As always, wonderful song, Doc. This time sang by a great woman πŸ‘©πŸ»
Dearest greetings from a very rainy β˜” Germany πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ to New England.
How's the weather there with you??? Good afternoon, Sabine. 🌼🌷🌻

Doc Murph

Sabine, foggy in the morning; sunny in the afternoon. Yesterday was very warm, about 28.3 Celsius. The leaves on the trees are displaying orange and tan colors. I think most leaves will have fallen after next week.

@Doc Murph That's truly very sad πŸ˜”πŸ˜’ to hear, Doc. There are so many stories without a happy ending, unfortunately πŸ˜’
Nevertheless wish you a wonderful and peaceful weekend. We await again warmth and beautiful 🏞 weather on our weekend, after a few days of cold ❄ weather. Hold on πŸ‘« Doc. God bless πŸ™πŸΌ Much Love πŸ’Ÿ and Light πŸ•― Courage and Contenance.
Dearest greetings, big kiss 😘 and hug πŸ€— Bine. πŸ’«πŸ

My great grandfather was German. His father ran fancy hotels in Dublin in the 19th century and taught the hospitality trade to him. He became a butler after he married and lived in London. He worked for the Turkish Embassy at the Ritz Hotel. He had a knack for languages and was in demand for his abilities.

When World War I began in 1914 he sent my grandmother and her sister along with his wife to the States. Right after that the Brits placed him in internment since he was of German nationality. Following the war he was sent back to Germany, settling in Frankfurt. Sadly he never reunited with his family. He wrote letters to his daughters but they never went to visit him in Germany. The world was in between the great depression and World War II then. The family did not hear anything from him after 1943, speculating that he perished in the bombings on Frankfurt by the Allies.

Doc!!! What she called Altweibersommer is what you & I call Indian Summer! (Those Germans! They use different words for everything!)

But I love Sabine anyway!!!
