Originally named the New Yardbirds, Led Zeppelin signed a deal with Atlantic Records that gave them considerable artistic freedom. Initially unpopular with critics, they achieved significant commercial success with eight studio albums over ten years. Their 1969 debut, Led Zeppelin, was a top-ten album in several countries and featured such tracks as "Good Times Bad Times", "Dazed and Confused" and "Communication Breakdown". Led Zeppelin II (1969) was their first number-one album, and yielded "Ramble On" and "Whole Lotta Love". In 1970, they released Led Zeppelin III which featured "Immigrant Song". Their untitled fourth album, commonly known as Led Zeppelin IV (1971), is one of the best-selling albums in history with 37 million copies sold. The album includes "Black Dog", "Rock and Roll" and "Stairway to Heaven", with the latter being among the most popular and influential works in rock history. Houses of the Holy (1973) yielded "The Ocean", "Over the Hills and Far Away" and "The Rain Song". Physical Graffiti (1975), a double album, featured "Trampled Under Foot" and "Kashmir".
Page wrote most of Led Zeppelin's music, particularly early in their career, while Plant wrote most of the lyrics. Jones's keyboard-based compositions later became central to their music, which featured increasing experimentation. The latter half of their career saw a series of record-breaking tours that earned the group a reputation for excess and debauchery. Although they remained commercially and critically successful, their touring and output, which included Presence (1976) and In Through the Out Door (1979), grew limited, and the group disbanded following Bonham's death in 1980. Since then, the surviving former members have sporadically collaborated and participated in one-off reunions. The most successful of these was the 2007 Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert in London, with Bonham's son Jason Bonham on drums.
Led Zeppelin are one of the best-selling music artists of all time; their total record sales are estimated to be between 200 and 300 million units worldwide. They achieved eight consecutive UK number-one albums and six number-one albums on the US Billboard 200, with five of their albums certified Diamond in the US. Rolling Stone magazine described them as "the heaviest band of all time", "the biggest band of the Seventies", and "unquestionably one of the most enduring bands in rock history". They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995; the museum's biography of the band states that they were "as influential" during the 1970s as the Beatles were during the 1960s.

And a train that's passin' my way helps the rhythm move along
There is no doubt about the words are clear
The voice is strong, is oh so strong
I'm just a simple guy, I live from day to day
A ray of sunshine melts my frown and blows my blues away
There's nothing more that I can say but on a day like today
All I need from you is all your love
All you got to give to me is all your love
All I need from you is all your love
All you got to give to me is all your love
Oh yeah, oh yeah
Oh yeah, oh yeah
I'm so glad I'm living and gonna tell the world I am
I got me a fine woman and she says that I'm her man
One thing that I know for sure gonna give her all the loving
Like nobody, nobody, nobody, nobody can
Standing in the noonday sun trying to flag a ride
People go and people come, see my rider right by my side
It's a total disgrace, they set the pace, it must be a race
And the best thing I can do is run
All I need from you is all your love
All you got to give to me is all your love
All I need from you is all your love
All you got to give to me is all your love
Oh yeah, oh yeah
Oh yeah, oh yeah
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah
In "Out On The Tiles," Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant sings about living a simple life, walking down the highway and singing a song while the passing train's rhythm provides a musical backdrop. The lyrics evoke a sense of freedom and lightness of being, and the song's joyful tone is reinforced by Plant's powerful, yet soulful vocals. He talks about how a ray of sunshine can melt his frown and blow his blues away, and how he wants nothing more than to spend time with a loved one, proclaiming his need for all their love.
Amidst the upbeat feel of the song, there are also moments of frustration, as Plant laments the pace of the world around him and seeks to break free from it by running. However, he ultimately finds solace in his love, stating that he will give her all the loving that nobody else can. Overall, "Out On The Tiles" is a celebration of living in the moment, finding joy in the simple things, and using music and love to navigate life's challenges.

Zep could do no wrong at this point in their career. Plant’s range is the best I’ve ever heard right here.

So after a full concert, Plant still manages to belt this vocally intense song off the rafters.
The man's voice in 70 was, for lack of a better word, astonishing.
Burning dinosaur bones
I was watching an interview with Ritchie Blackmore who met him when he was young and that was the word he used to describe Plant also
Avi Soncino
I love how in the first part of the first chorus Robert sings low and then high,as if a man is saying it to a woman
Time Shaft
I love it when singers do that. So unexpected.
eatthisvr6
This is soooo heavy and yet soooo upbeat at the same time!

Helps that it's in a major key. The main riff after the descending opening bit is an F sharp major chord arpeggio, if I remember right.

Tiles Live is one of their heaviest jams. Levee too.

The guitar tone is just crazy

Underrated album track, brothers and sisters.
