Deserie
Les Charts Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

My darling dear, I love you so.

Don't know what, you do to me.
You make my heart, feel so free.
But I'd like to know, why do I love you so?
Oh, my Deserie.

Tried my best to be bold,
My love for you dear, I could not control.
For you captured my heart, right from the start
Oh, my Deserie

Darling say we'll never part.
My love for you dear, stays here in my heart.

Tell me why, should I, make you cry
Deserie

Overall Meaning

The song "Deserie" by Les Charts is a classic love song that expresses deep feelings of love and admiration towards the eponymous character 'Deserie'. The singer is deeply in love with Deserie and expresses how he is left feeling free whenever she is around. However, he is confused about why he loves her so much and wonders why he feels so captivated by her presence.

The first two lines show the intensity of the singer's love for Deserie. He does not understand why he feels so strongly for her and why he cannot get enough of her. The singer goes on to describe how she makes his heart feel free, which shows that she brings joy to him and is an essential part of his life. However, he is curious about why he loves her so much.

The singer then explains how he tried to be bold when it came to loving Deserie but failed because he could not control himself. This shows that he is vulnerable when it comes to her and how she has taken control of his heart right from the beginning. He pleads with her to never leave him because his love for her will always remain in his heart. He ends by asking why he should make her cry, further emphasizing the deep love they share.

One great thing about the original doo-wop era is that all it takes sometimes is a group of kids fresh off a street corner to take their best idea into a recording studio and commit it to vinyl.  The Charts were this group and what they put out is so monumental and fresh that we in the 21st century are still playing it.  Good going guys, you did your music and your genre proud.
