For several years they toured, both solo and together, as choir members before they decided to team up as a duo. After this decision, things took off quickly with an EP in February 2012 and winning awards at the Francouvertes.
Since then they have performed at various festivals and won other prestigious awards, like the "best new artist" at the GAMIQ's.
Their album, "Le Poids des Confettis", was released in March of 2013 and quickly gained popularity and awards, including "Revelation of the year" and "Best folk album" along with several other nominations.

Les soeurs Boulay Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Mon courage est revenu
Mes genoux tremblent
Alexandre
Notre amour est pas perdu
J’vas le défendre
Même quand tu vas m’faire chier
The lyrics to Les soeurs Boulay's song "Alexandre" delve deeply into themes of courage, fear, vulnerability, and the enduring strength of love. The singer begins by expressing how their courage has returned, yet their knees tremble and their forehead is broken, symbolizing both internal and external struggles. There is a fear of abandonment ingrained within them, stemming from a fear of becoming like their mother and a fear of being trampled on. Despite this fear, there is a longing for connection and a desire to breathe in the shimmering water that fills Alexandre's eyes.
The singer invites Alexandre to engage in intimate conversation with them, to blossom amid the harshness of life's concrete realities. They long for a space where no one can tarnish their youthful and innocent hearts. There's a plea for healing and guidance, for Alexandre to show them the way to navigate the complexities of life with kindness and authenticity. The interconnectedness of their beings is emphasized, reflecting a deep bond and unity between the two individuals.
The second verse sees the singer affirming that their love with Alexandre is not lost, and they vow to defend it fiercely. They acknowledge that even when things get tough, even when Alexandre may annoy them, or even when things don't appear perfect, honesty is crucial. There is an understanding that nothing on earth can draw them closer together than the truth shared between them. The commitment to preserve their love and face any challenges together is unwavering.
Once more, the singer beckons Alexandre to engage in soulful conversations, to nurture their bond amidst life's harshness. The refrain emphasizes the importance of protecting their purity and innocence, guarding against the potential for their hearts to be scraped by the world's harshness. The call for healing, guidance, and understanding is repeated, underscoring the mutual growth and transformation that can be achieved when two individuals are intertwined. The lyrics encapsulate a profound sense of vulnerability, resilience, and unwavering devotion in the face of life's trials and tribulations.
