No Dejes Que Te Olvide
Los Tres Diamantes Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Para vivir la vida sin ti
Son las maracas y el bongo
Amigos que me dan valor
Yo quiero que tu sepas que yo
Muy pronto me he olvidado de ti
Al recordar tu nombre
No me dejes, olvidar tu nombre
Yo te quiero recordar
No dejes que te olvide por favor
De rodillas esperando
Siempre tus palabras, he de estar
No dejes que te olvide
Por favor
Yo sé que tu
Me has olvidado, ya
Pero en mi afán
Tu nombre he de guardar
De rodillas esperando
Siempre tus palabras, he de estar
No dejes que te olvide, por favor
De rodillas esperando
Siempre tus palabras, he de estar
No dejes que te olvide, por favor
No dejes que te olvide por favor
The lyrics of Los Tres Diamantes’s song “No Dejes Que Te Olvide” express the singer's need to hold onto memories of a past love. The song begins by stating that the singer uses maracas and bongos to keep their spirits up, allowing them to live their life without their past love. However, as soon as the love's name is remembered, the singer begs not to be forgotten. The lyrics repeat the message that the singer will always remember the love's name and plead with them not to forget.
The chorus especially emphasizes this plea, with the haunting repetition of “No dejes que te olvide por favor,” which translates to “Don't let me forget you, please.” The singer continues on to say that they know the love has forgotten about them, but they still hold onto the memories and wait for their words with bated breath. The song ends with the same plea not to be forgotten, even as the singer waits on their knees for their love.
The lyrics in “No Dejes Que Te Olvide” perfectly encapsulate the feeling of holding onto memories of a past love, despite knowing that the relationship has ended. The song is an emotional ballad that begs the listener to hold onto the memories that make them human, even when those memories bring them pain.
