Some would call him a Sacramento hip hop legend… Read Full Bio ↴Who is Mr. P Chill?
Some would call him a Sacramento hip hop legend. Others would call him a revolutionary. Some would call him an emcee on a mission. And yet others would call him the essence of hip hop itself. All of those descriptions are true. This Sacramento hip hop vet lays his entire lifetime of experiences on every track, every drop of blood and sweat and every tear shed is a part of what makes his music so real. P Chill is not some emcee hiding behind a partition of lies, but rather a person as real as you. Chill writes of the hardships of the working poor, the pain of heartbreak, the anger of the youth and tries to find solutions to a world gone wrong.
P Chill released his first recordings in 1992 while a part of a group. Over the next 20 years Chill has continued to grow not only as an emcee, but as a natural born leader. Chill’s philosophy is that he has been given an incredible opportunity to reach the masses with his voice, so he must use his voice for something constructive, not just talk about senseless, random, materialistic things. Having spent the past 8 years performing up and down the west coast of the United States, selling countless copies of his 6 albums hand to hand as well as over the internet, Chill has decided that the time has come to expand even further. The message of peace and equality that P Chill spreads is universal and needs to be heard. Chill had spent much of 2011 on the road promoting his two releases that year; ONCE AGAIN and ALL SERIOUSNESS ASIDE all over the United States and has already gotten 2012 off to a good start on the road as well.
There is a wind of change blowing in hip hop and P Chill will have that wind at his back as he moves forward into 2012!

Let the skeletons out
Let the skeletons out
Let the skeletons out
Let the skeletons out
Let the skeletons out
Let the skeletons out
I can't hide, hide, hide. I can't keep it inside
Red lights just a glint in an eye
I can't hide, hide, hide. I feel more than alive
Cause the skeletons in my closet are waiting for the second I fall asleep
To worm their way into my dreams
And wake up a secret I been trying to keep
I got no protection. There ain't a soul who'll arrive in time
To close the closet, lock in them bones,
And the monster's lurkin' in this heart of mine!
You're a victim, all meat no bones
"Died alone, cold, and unknown" written on your gravestone
You don't know the sheer amount of control
I gotta have, have, have just to k,k,k,keep it in
Now the skeleton's in my closet are ragin' at the door
The frame is cracked, the wood is splintered
And the groanings are louder than before
I've used the last of my lies, holy water and hawthorn
It's a matter of time before it's broken it down
And then my monster has been born!
It's dark. It's an art?
How well I hide, hide, hide. I need a priest to confide in
You'll never know. No, you'll never know
No, no, no, no, no you'll never know
I'm crashing through to get you. I claw your stiffened spine
I pull, snap, bite, chew, and swallow and snuff you
To sooth your wimpered cries
I scream my exaltation as you shiver too scared to fight
Over your broken, sorry, ravaged self
The first I'll have tonight!
So bring on the bones, bring on the blood,
Bring on the brains, bring on the pain!
Let the skeletons out
Let the skeletons out
Let the skeletons out
Let the skeletons out
Let the skeletons out
Let the skeletons out
Let the skeletons out
Let the skeletons out
Let the skeletons out
Let the skeletons out
Let the skeletons out
Let the skeletons out
Let the skeletons out
Let the skeletons out
Let the skeletons out
Let the skeletons out
Let the skeletons out
Let the skeletons out
Let the skeletons out
Let the skeletons out
The lyrics to Mr. P Chill's song "Skeletons in the Closet" express the idea of trying to suppress one's inner demons or secrets, but ultimately failing to do so. The chorus of the song repeats the line "let the skeletons out" as if the singer is urging themselves to face their demons and come clean about what they've been hiding. The verses tell a story of the singer's struggle to keep their secrets hidden, with references to "red lights just a glint in an eye" and "the sounds only come out at night". They are haunted by the skeletons in their closet, waiting to escape and reveal the secrets they've been trying to keep.
The second verse speaks directly to the listener as if they are the ones judging the singer, describing them as a "victim, all meat no bones" who will "die alone, cold, and unknown" with no idea of the control the singer has to exert to keep their secrets hidden. The final verse takes on a dark turn, with the singer seeming to embrace their inner demons and declare their intention to let them out: "So bring on the bones, bring on the blood, bring on the brains, bring on the pain!"
Overall, the song is a powerful meditation on the difficulty of confronting one's own demons and the potential consequences of failing to do so. The repeated chorus of "let the skeletons out" is both a plea for help and a warning to others to beware of what lies hidden beneath the surface.
