The verses of the song "Nawm Ayni" by Najwa Karam depict a feeling of longing and desire. The singer begs for her beloved to come to her in the night and steal her away with the taste of their yearning. The repetition of the line "on my eyes, sleep comes and steals me" emphasizes the persistence of the singer's yearning, despite the obstacles preventing their reunion. The singer compares the intensity of her emotions to a flame that never truly dies, and she asks for the stars to be extinguished and for her to be consumed by the fire of this longing.
The chorus of the song sees the singer asking to be taken into her beloved's heart, to be loved and protected by them. She pledges to die for their love if necessary, and asks to be taught how to die for their love if that is what it takes to be with them. The refrain is repeated after the chorus, emphasizing the intensity and persistence of her longing.
Overall, the song is a passionate declaration of love, longing, and desire. The poetic language used by the singer emphasizes the depth and intensity of her emotions, making this a powerful and moving song.
