The song "Worod Al Dar" by Najwa Karam is a beautiful, melancholic love song about missing someone deeply. The opening lines, "Haram nar al hawa ya nas takweeni, atshan wa mar al nouw ma ad yanawini," express the pain of being consumed by a love that cannot be fulfilled. The singer longs for her beloved to return and heal her wounds, to be the balm that soothes her aching heart. The chorus, "La tabki ya wurud al dar, thalik ghani bighayabihi," urges the flowers of the home not to cry, as their beauty is enhanced by the absence of the loved one. The singer asks that when he returns from his journey, they become the decoration of his door.
The song continues with the singer expressing her devotion and love, lighting candles and praying for her beloved's safe return. She implores him to carry her away and hide her, to never stop asking if she loves him because she has loved him for generations. The final repetition of the chorus emphasizes the importance of being the adornment of her beloved's door when he returns.
Overall, "Worod Al Dar" is a poignant and touching love song that captures the intensity of missing someone deeply.
