Trombonology Erstwhile
My all-time favorite side on which Anita appears. Despite the fact that she recorded with several orchestras throughout her career, Ms. Boyer seems underrated among big band aficionados of today; her clarion narration here, with good diction, allows this story to come to life. The Shaw band, too, was lovely at this time -- one of only a few that I think really used strings well. The lush bridge after Anita's vocal is beautiful.

Very nicely done. This kind of whimsical, sentimental song was very typical of the last few years before the USA was plunged into WW2.
