Although Bruel aspired to be a football star as a youth, he decided to pursue singing after seeing Michel Sardou in 1975. His first success came as an actor, however, in 1979's Le Coup de sirocco. He continued acting in films, on television and in the theater while pursuing his singing career. His first single, "Vide" ("Empty"), released in 1982, was not a success, but the follow up, "Marre de cette nana-là" ("Fed up with that chick"), was a hit.
In 2003, he had his last name officially changed to Bruel-Benguigui, his stage name with his birthname, before his partner Amanda Maruani gave birth to his first child, Oscar, on August 19. On September 21, 2004, he wed the 24-year-old Maruani; it is his first marriage. His second child, Léon Bruel was born on the 28th September, 2005.
As of 2004 Bruel has acted in more than 40 different television and film productions and made five studio albums and several live albums. His last album to date is Entre Deux (2002), a double CD of classic chanson that features duets with Charles Aznavour, Jean-Louis Aubert, Jean-Jacques Goldman, Alain Souchon and Renaud, among others. It sold two million copies and made Bruel France's best paid singer of the year. At the beginning of 2005, in response to the South Asian tsunami of December 26, 2004, Bruel wrote the song "Et puis la terre" to benefit the Red Cross.

Demain on s'ra Villeurbanne,
Bal Mulhouse! Noce in Toulouse!
Hier kermesse dans les catacombes
Ce soir M. J. C. Colombes.
Demain le monde!
Wow!
Salut Toulon! Debout Lyon!
L'autre soir au concert d'Avignon
On a meme fait pogotter l' Pont
Rock Roquefort! Trip au Trport!
Hier on s' beurrait en Charente
Ce soir on cluse la Gironde.
Bonsoir Vesoul! Ho! La Bourboule!
On vient pas pour voler vos poules
Juste un groupe de rock qui dboule.
Ce soir Marseille! Demain Crteil!
Parfois la route te parat longue
Qu'est-ce que tu veux que j' te rponde?
Demain le monde... Demain le monde... Demain le monde... Demain le monde!
The lyrics of Patrick Bruel's song Demain Le Monde talk about the experience of being a musician on tour, performing in different venues and cities every night. The song opens with a mention of the hectic atmosphere backstage before a show, with everyone getting ready to perform in a small gymnasium with the hopes of moving on to bigger venues like the "Znith". The song then describes the challenges of performing, with technical difficulties and time constraints adding to the pressure of putting on a great show. Regardless of these obstacles, the band members are determined to have a good time and give their audience a memorable experience. They joke around with each other and revel in the adrenaline rush of performing live.
As the song progresses, Patrick Bruel sings about the different cities they visit, from Strasbourg to Cherbourg to Villeurbanne. He describes the relationships they build with different people on the road, from venue owners to groupies. The lyrics also touch on the theme of aspirations, with the owner of one venue telling the band they may one day become famous. Even though the road can be tough, the song ends on a hopeful note, with the repeated phrase "Demain le monde" (Tomorrow the world) symbolizing the band's ambition and determination to keep performing and chasing their dreams.
