Non so com'è però vi invito a berlo
The song "A muso duro" by Pierangelo Bertoli speaks about the artist's way of living his life and his approach to creating music. The first stanza talks about his uncertainty about what to do next but also his feeling of coldness and loneliness. The next lines express his way of writing songs, with a pen and without any specific work orders, and his dislike for corrupt people and those who succeed by unethical means. He continues by saying that he will sing his songs on the streets and face life head-on, like a warrior without a country or sword, with one foot in the past and a direct and open gaze towards the future.
The next stanza shows Bertoli's dedication to expressing his thoughts and opinions and not conforming to industry standards. He does not care about being labeled as a poet, and he invites others to drink his wine even though he admits he may not know what it tastes like himself. He then says that he will not engage in self-indulgent behavior; instead, he will tell his stories to those who appreciate the art form.
The chorus repeats the message of the song, emphasizing the artist's determination to live and sing his way, even if that involves adversity and facing the unknown.
The song's lyrics reflect the artist's non-conformist attitude towards the music industry and his dedication to expressing his thoughts and opinions through his art. Bertoli's authenticity and rawness in his music were a breath of fresh air in the 1970s Italian music industry, which was dominated by commercial and superficial lyrics. The song speaks to anyone who seeks to live their life authentically and honestly, even if it is not always the easiest path to take.
