With the declaration of martial law in December 1981 Trio broke up - Jacek Kaczmarski remained in exile in France, and Gintrowski started his own artistic activity. He made his debut as a composer of film music – during the next ten years he created music for over twenty fictional films and serials.
Ginstrowski’s songs based on texts by Jacek Kaczmarski, Zbigniew Herbert, Thomas Jastrun, Krzysztof Maria Sieniawski, Jerzy Czech, Tadeusz Nowak and Mark Tercz.
For several years he did not record their own songs, although he still composes for other artists and prepares music for films. Gintrowski announced he will record another album entitled “Kanapka z człowiekiem” (“Sandwich with a man”) that would contain older material in new developments as well as some brand new songs.
In August 31, 2006 he was awarded by President Lech Kaczynski with The Order of Polonia Restituta.
Gintrowski died on October 20, 2012 after long disease.

Nie wódź mnie na wyspę Poezja
Pokochaj mnie tutaj w kraju listopada
Pokochaj mnie w żałobnej pieśni
Będzie śnieg będą buty żołnierskie na śniegu
I karabiny chętne strzelać
W te migoczące serca w zakazane wiersze
Dotykaj moich zziębniętych dłoni
Dotykaj moich zimnych ust
Czułość uchodzi ze mnie powoli
Kochaj ten wierny we mnie lód
Nie kuś mnie blaskiem morza ani słońcem Grecji
W moim kraju tylko łza świeci
Pokochaj mnie tutaj z tym przekleństwem w gardle
Pokochaj mnie w tym tańcu śmierci
Kiedy gniew kiedy bramy rozwarte na oścież
I werbel marszu i chrzęst mięśni
W te roziskrzone twarze w nieustępliwe ręce
W ten smutek spróbuj tam uwierzyć
Dotykaj moich zziębniętych dłoni
Dotykaj moich zimnych ust
Czułość uchodzi ze mnie powoli
Kochaj ten wierny we mnie lód
The first verse of Przemysław Gintrowski's "List" speaks to not wanting to hear about love under the southern stars or be taken to the island of poetry. The singer wants to be loved in their own country during November when everything is in mourning. The following verse paints a picture of a snowy landscape and soldier boots crunching in the snow with rifles ready to shoot. The forbidden hearts and freedom that is dying are the things that the singer wants to be loved for.
The second verse reveals that the singer has cold and numb hands and lips and that tenderness slowly escapes from them. They want to be loved for the faithful ice inside of them, not for the shine of the sea or the sun in Greece. In their country, only tears shine. The singer wants to be loved in the dance of death with the curse in their throat. The last part again speaks to the chaos of war and the steely resolve in the soldiers' hands, and the unyielding sadness on their faces. The request to touch the singer's cold hands and lips is repeated, symbolizing the need for love to warm them up.
