@Technature Gaming likin a movie doesn't automatically make you dumb. It's not that simple. But it's an objective fact of life that what you value is based on your intelligence, personality, and personal beliefs and all that. If I made 2 short films and one was very straight forward, not very deep or complex, and was made to cater to an audience of a shallower mindset, and the other was the exact opposite of that, of course it's not 100%, but it's just ignorant to think that doesn't say something about the people the gravitate to one or the other. I like a lot of complex movies, and then I like a lot of simple movies. Most everything has value in the right context. But it's just basic psychology. A person that's not very intelligent is obviously going to be put off by a movie that asks deep or complicated questions that they don't really understand or care about. While someone that watches a lot of movies and specifically likes layers of depth, is going to put off by a movie that lacks those things. Honestly I don't even remember what this video was about, or what the overall conversation is in this comment section is about, but what I'm saying is pretty straight forward and I stand by it. But above i don't really care about any of this shit xD suicide squad sucks and if you like I I believe I have some valid reasons to lose a little respect for your movie taste. @punchy donut People are free to like the movie if they want. There's nothing wrong with that and it doesn't make anyone dumb because of it. The problem comes from people who think that people don't like the movies because "It's the popular thing to do" and go out of their way to do and say stupid shit cause their feelings were hurt over something they had nothing to do with.

You should consider not following their example if you want to not be conceived as one of those people that hate something cause it's cool.

I hated this movie. This movie totally misrepresents the Suicide Squad characters and puts them up against a terrible antagonist. The Joker should have been the antagonist. Capt Boomerang barely uses his boomerangs. Will Smith was OK as Deadshot but I have seen better versions of the character like the version on The Arrow TV show. They don't do the Joker Harley relationship right. Joker is suppose to be an abisive boyfriend to Harley. I think Margot Robbie could have been a good Harley under better direction and if Snyder was not the executive producer of this garbage. I did like Diablo until he says the Squad is his family. I felt no chemistry between these people. Killer Croc was OK but could have been better. Flag was badly done. Viola Davis as Amanda Waller should have been awesome. I think she did the best with the garbage she was given. Batman Arkham Assault is an animated Suicide Squad movie and it captures the characters and the reason for the team much better than this pile of shit. That is the good Suicide Squad movie not this film. So watch Batman Arkham Assault and stay away from this.

Duolingo Bird I am comparing this to the DC animated films that are about the Suicide Squad which are Batman Assault on Arkham and Suicide Squad Hell to Pay. Both animated films are much better than this train wreck of a movie. This movie has the worse editing of all the DCEU films everyone complains about the Marvel villains being weak. This movie had a magical belly dancer played by a Victoria secret model who can't act for crap. The actress did a terrible job playing the character. I have seen Capt Boomerang done better in the Justice League animated series and the animated films that used him. Jai Courtney throw s a boomerang and it feels boring. The CW Capt Boomerang on Arrow was better too.

You've highlighted the biggest issue I had with this film; everything felt forced. The music, the scenes, character motivation, the plot, the flow. I liked the film, but damn it felt anything but natural. I think the best part of the film for me was Diablo. He's the only character who showed consistent energy and brought a lot of empathy to his character. And they fucking killed him off.

GilArcher I disagree. The audience rating is what matters because they are the ones paying to see such movies. The critic rating matters in that you find a critic with similar tastes to yours to help you decide what to spend time and money on. There's several examples of ticket sales trumping whatever the critics had to say at the time.

"The audience is not important." That's silly. The audience is the reason that movies get made. If a studio made movies for the critics then I imagine they'd crash and burn into bankruptcy or obscurity.

IMDB is good for seeing how much people enjoyed the movie, but for 100% critical analysis? Not so much.
And that's kind of how it has to be on a site like that. People like and dislike movies for very subjective reasons that often have very little to do with plot, cinematography, dialogue or any other potentially quantifiably well done aspects.

I remember being very excited when this came out. I was a young DC fan at the time and I remember thinking "Wow this movie is gonna be good! The character designs are pretty cool!" I never got around to watching it, time passed and a couple years later I finally watched it. It hit NONE of the marks very low marks I was hoping for. I sat in my living room confused, unsatisfied and cringing. It was so bad, the acting was half baked and just full of really strange mannerism. Like I get the ideas the writers where going for with the Joker design, definitely didn't hit the mark, making a more believable design for an antiagonist would bring the viewer to fear them more. But come on, NOTHING about his design is even slightly believable with the plot in mind. I even thought, even thought I think demonizing certain mental health issues is pretty shitty, they might take a more realistic approach to mental health. But no! Anyways I haven't even seen the Joker movie but that design is miles ahead of it. And if they were going for a more relatable design for Joker, why not all the characters? Harley Quinn is pretty good but they others are all ehh from what I remember.

Why is it that almost every person I discuss this movie with who enjoyed it can't seem to give legitimate reasons why they think it's a good film? And when you point out all of the shitty aspects of the movie they try really hard to convince you that they were all conscious artistic decisions? And when you try to explain why and how a lot of the movies aspects are objectively poorly executed i terms of film making they start going on a college stoner rant about how all art is 100% subjective in every form and that there isn't a set of basic film making guidelines to ensure what you shoot isn't boring and makes sense?

Fuck off, any and all artistic venues have concrete rules and guidelines. It doesn't mean you can't bend them a bit, but it does mean there are clear differences between what is and isn't art, and more importantly clear differences in quality. Sorry, but they've been in place since their inception and all this postmodern "it's all subjective man!" crap is only around so educated idiots can gawk at a piss-soaked canvas and go on about it's "deeper meaning" and people just "don't get it." when anyone that's an actual artist or even art fan who's word is worth a dime comes by and says "No, that's literally just a wasted canvas"

It's people like you that are the reason pretentious trendy hipsters can have a "sculpture" that's literally just gallons of piss in a glass cube or scribbles on a canvas, while all the artists with actual merit and talent are forced to the sidelines and can only make a living by doing freelance work or commissions.

Well I have seen the movie and yep - it was fun to me. Found some redeeming qualities like Deadshot and Harley Quinn characters. Also, they managed to get me emotionally invested in almost all of the characters and they really made a good job portraying them (adapting from the comics). Action was sloppy and I couldn't care less about it, but it was emotional, I felt for these characters. It's not a typical "superhero" movie disscount some stuff like the big light in the sky. It starts differently then most of the superhero films I have seen, and I think you cannot judge comicbook movies as a "films", I think that is a comic book movie, and shoud be judged on different criterias then other movies like f.e. horror movie.

I have no issue with people enjoying this movie, so long as they enjoyed it for what it was: a kind of fun, mindless, action-fest. The issue I have with a lot of the people YMS mentioned is that they refuse to call this film anything but the greatest thing ever. And the aggression from THEM is only going to fuel critics giving aggressively anti-this-film retorts right back.

I enjoyed your review. It was accurate, and described how many felt throughout this film. Calling it "try hard" though is poor taste because it's a general catch-all buzzword that generalizes all the hard work gone into creating something so visually intricate. Sure; the writing was awful, but there was a lot more at play when these shysters created Suicide Squad 2016.

I like how at the beginning of the film when the car chase happens between the Joker with Harley Quinn and Batman they drive into a body of water, and when Batman swims down to retrive them he only takes Harley Quinn. Why didn't he grab the joker as well? Was there a detail I missed? Did he escape in time? I can think of three explanations for this: The first explanation I have is that the car went down so deep Batman had to swim a super long distance to get to it that took a very long time, meanwhile the Joker escaped while he left Harley Quinn in the car, who eventually fell into a unconscious state in the water for a while. But this wouldn't make sense, because she would immidiatley drown. It also doesn't make sense to me that she would be unconsciouss because she would be aware of the car diving into the water with the amount of force that would put on them, unless so much force bulit up that it forced her into a unconsciouss state. It also doesn't make sense that the Joker would abandon and leave her, since they develop a clear attachment between the two in the film, so he would definetley want her with him. My second explanation is that Batman forgot to grab Joker, or he purposely did not. But I can't see any reason for why he wouldn't want to apprehed the Joker, and even if I was Batman I think it would be pretty hard to forget him, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE THE CHANCE TO APPREHEND HIM A MINUTE AFTER YOU'RE CHASING HIM DOWN. Not to mention that there would also be the Harley Quinn unconsciouss problem I mentioned earlier. My third and final explanation is that the Joker was able to free himself in time from the car, but didn't have enough time to take Harley Quinn with him. Although this makes the most sense to me I still think this has issues. I fell like Batman would be able to see the Joker swimming away before he can successfully escape. There's also the Harley Quinn being unconsciouss problem. Mabye he did see the Joker swimming away but wanted to retrive Harley Quinn first? Because Harley Quinn is TOTALLY a much more important priority than the Joker, who has much more power and influence than her. This is just one of the problems I see in a barrage of problems that make no sense, but I haven't seen anybody mention it so I decided to bring awareness to it. Mabye I did miss something that explained it. Anyways sorry for the huge paragraph rant and probably a million spelling errors.

Jonah Hex isn’t anything special, but from what I saw it isn’t complete garbage. Steel is complete garbage though, the dude literally looks like a trash can. But with that being said, Suicide Squad is INFINITELY inferior to ALL those movies plus many more due to its awful editing, its inept use of the soundtrack, the poorly written jokes that would only be funny to autistic 4 year old kids, the color palette which is ugly as fuck and you can’t see shit for half of the movie, and the atrocious story that makes literally no sense at all and wouldn’t make it on the writing table if DC wasn’t the most desperate fucking idiots in history. There are rumours that there are like some 6 or 7 different cuts of this movie not counting the one we got. Realistically people within the production say more like 4 or 5. Eitherway, I wonder if there was a good movie somewhere in all that footage.
