Badal uthiya ri sakhi
Mere saasre ki od
Paani barsega sir tod
Badal uthiya ri sakhi
Badal uthiya ri sakhi
Moti moti boond bhatabhat
Paani ke baha ke agge
Beh gaye nakke dyodhe se
Uttar dakshin poorab pashchim
Hawa ke jhakode se
Jangdya ke kiwaad moonde
Khul gaye ode sode se
Jangdya ke kiwaad moonde
Khul gaye ode sode se
Kisya pul tootya ri sakhi
Kisya pul tootya ri sakhi
Behge nadi naale jod
Paani barsega sir tod
Badal uthiya ri sakhi
Badal uthiya ri sakhi
Badal uthiya ri sakhi
Badal uthiya ri sakhi
Badal uthiya ri sakhi
Badal uthiya ri sakhi
The song "Badal Uthiya" is a beautiful piece of music that talks about the arrival of the monsoon season. The song begins with the beautiful voice of Rekha Bhardwaj singing the line "Badal Uthiya Ri Sakhi" which means that the clouds have risen. She then goes on to describe how the rain will come and change everything. The line "mere saasre ki od" talks about how the small corners of the village will be filled with water, and the rain will beat the ground with such force that it could break someone’s head.
The next verse talks about how the raindrops are becoming bigger and bigger and how they are exploding like little bombs. The line “phootan lag gaye gode se” indicates that they are so heavy that they are breaking from the branches and falling like stones. The water is so powerful that it is even shifting the earth. The verse goes on to describe how the wind is blowing in from all directions and stirring up a storm. The bridges are breaking, and the rivers are combining, and the song is culminating in the chorus of “badal uthiya”.
The song speaks to the power of the monsoon season, and how it can change everything. It can bring life to the fields and gardens, and how it can transform a dull and dry place into a vibrant and lively one. It is a celebration of nature and the beauty of its power. The song invokes a sense of wonder and awe at the power of the storm and reminds us of the importance of respecting the natural world.
