Mary
Robert Fripp Lyrics

That a creature could be so lonely
It became my deepest wish
To give her my love
To embrace her forever
And to have her find some peace
She who was so lonely
Came with volumes of feeling I have never known
Except perhaps for Mary
And she was always my sister
And she was always my sister

That a creature could be so lonely
It became my deepest wish
To give her my love
To embrace her forever
And to have her find some peace
She who was so lonely
Came with volumes
Volumes of feeling
I have never known
Except perhaps for Mary
And she was always my sister

Why am I the first one to comment this song ? I am the only one searching the golden nuggets left by my favourite guitarist ? Anyway just love that song and its rythm, it also brings a lot of memories from the time I was studying law at the university and was left alone in a little room. The cd's I was borrowing at the library helped me a lot to face this loneliness, among them was exposure and this song in particuliar was a real relief.

I agree, this is one of those gems. This Exposure album was a masterpiece. This song reminds me of Fripp's first album with Andy Summers.
