Perché MI PIACE IL MALE CHE MI FACCIO
A STARE QUA
In mezzo al fuoco,
Fra le storie dei telegiornali
In questo cazzo di città ...
Capo / io e la mia bambina ci prendiamo a secco
Scappo / devo farle un altro buco nell'orecchio.
I brividi fanno lacrime
Che corrono sullo specchio/ Capo.
Capo / specie di rifiuto radiocomandato.
Nuoto nella fogna,
Tu non puoi venirmi dietro.
Quaggiù non c'è stile libero
Si salva soltanto il topo / Capo.
Non ho mai chiesto aiuto al prete
O all'angelo custode
A stare qua
In mezzo al vento, sotto i fulmini
E i temporale
Perché MI PIACE IL MALE CHE MI FACCIO
A STARE QUA
In mezzo al fuoco,
Fra le storie del telegiornale
In questo cazzo di città.
The song "Capo" by Samuele Bersani depicts a life marked by violence and suffering, where the singer seems to embrace his own pain and self-destruction. The lyrics speak of a man who carries a cockroach in his hand, as a metaphor for his feelings of being trapped and contaminated by the world around him. He watches violent TV shows, gets into trouble, and tries to escape it all with his daughter, but even their connection is tinged with sadness and tears. At the same time, the man seems to reject any form of help or salvation, as he openly admits to liking the pain he causes himself.
The song's title, "Capo", which means "head" or "boss" in Italian, suggests a sense of authority or control, which the singer clearly lacks. He is a victim of his own choices and of the society he lives in, where violence, corruption, and superficiality seem to prevail. The song's repetitive structure and haunting melody enhance the sense of claustrophobia and resignation that permeates the lyrics. The lyrics also suggest a critique of the media and of the culture of sensationalism and voyeurism that feeds on people's suffering.
Overall, "Capo" is a powerful, introspective, and often disturbing song that speaks to the darkest sides of human nature, while also questioning the social and cultural factors that contribute to it.
