Childhood:
Samy Deluxe grew up with his mothers family as his Sudanese father left Germany when Samy was just two years old. Shortly after this event his half-sister was born. After living in Barmbek for many years they then moved to Eppendorf, a generally better-off suburb of Hamburg. Given this contrast - he certainly did not come from a well-off background - and his constant problems at school with teachers who he often defied, he looked for a release and a way to express himself away from school. He soon discovered music.
Style:
Samy modelled himself on American hip hop. This gave him a great sense of caring for his family, although he boasts of having had a good relationship with his mother and the people who looked after him. He practised all year long writing lyrics and spitting them, he has outstanding freestyling skills. Even his fiercest rivals have admitted that he is one of the best Freestylers in Germany.
Audacious and eloquent, Samy initially chose an aggressive style, based on imaginative use of metaphors, complex overlapping rhymes and his own melodic flow. He favours constructing contantly changing pictures rather than telling long stories. Critics find fault with his limited content and repetitive subjects, but Sam Semillia (as he calls himself, taken from the non-toxis form of the cannabis plant, Sinsemilia) has responded by saying that he can only rap in the style and about the subjects that feel real to him.
Starting Out:
Before working with Dynamite Deluxe he was a member of German Hip Hop group "No Nonsens". He became very well known due to his many guest appearances on the CDs put out by hip hop artists such as Freundeskreis, the Stieber Twins, Main Concept, Eins Zwo, Ferris MC, Absolute Beginner, Das Bo and 5 Sterne Deluxe. It was the latter group in particular that he performed many concerts with. He also took it upon himself to do the festivals all over Germany in order to make a name for himself.

Zur beliebtesten Gameshow der Nation
Wer wird Millionär
[Hook]
Dann komm n Schritt näher
Städte sind voll
Die Taschen sind leer
Menschen hams schwer
Die Welt is nich fair
Was kann man draus lernen
Wir müssen mehr lernen
Du kannst es nich sehen
Dann komm n Schritt näher
Städte sind voll
Die Taschen sind leer
Menschen hams schwer
Die Welt is nich fair
Die Frage is wer wird Millionär?
[1. Part]
Sag ma was is das bloß fürn Wort
[Hook]
Du kannst es nich sehen
Dann komm n Schritt näher

[2. Part]
Ehhhm irgendwas läuft da falsch
Wo is die Chancengleichheit
Wenn das Volk immer ärmer wird
Und nur ihr Bonzen reich bleibt
Würden die Medien doch wenigstens ma prädigen
Was zählt is das ihr in eurem Herzen
Und nich auf den Konten reich seid
Doch das erzählt hier keiner
Alles hier geht um Scheine
Geiz und Gier
Scheiß auf wir
Jeder geht sein weg allein
Kids wollen mehr Geld
Und sie lernen schnell
Das nich lohnt fair zu spielen
In dieser unfairen Welt
Finden kriminelle Wege
Minimale Arbeit
In all den Brennpunkten
Armut is dir Krankheit
[Hook]

Ich brauch Scheine

Fakt is das der Schlüssel zum Erfolg die Bildung is
Fakt is das der Preis für Bildung hier nich billig is
Fakt is das viele (?)

Will Party machen man

Die Frage is wer wird Millionär?
The song "Wer wird Millionär?" by Samy Deluxe is a commentary on the social and economic inequalities in society. In the opening lines, the host introduces the game show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" as a popular form of entertainment. The lyrics then delve into the struggles of people living in poverty, the increasing wealth gap, and the lack of equal opportunities for all members of society. The chorus repeats the question, "who will become a millionaire?" highlighting the seemingly difficult path to success for those who are less privileged.
In the first and second verses, Samy Deluxe speaks about the problems with the social welfare system and how it isn't really working in everyone's favour. He also talks about how the media propagates a narrative that rich people are better than poor people, which leads to feelings of exclusion and helps perpetuate inequality. In the second part of the song, he addresses the issue of crime and unemployment and blames it on the lack of government support for education and social welfare.
Overall, "Wer wird Millionär?" is a very socially conscious song that tackles complex societal issues such as poverty, inequality and social justice in a very direct and honest way.

He criticizes those who don't properly support education and presents himself as the bearer of bad news that people don't want to hear. He acknowledges that people pay more attention to the rhythm of the song than to his words. He combines this message with a danceable beat, and admits that he has faced criticism for not being political enough. He responds to these criticisms by delivering a fresh perspective on the issues at hand.
Die Frage is wer wird Millionär?
The song repeatedly asks the titular question 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?' sarcastically highlighting the obsession with wealth and the belief that it is the solution to all problems.
