Saule Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Qui n’me dit rien
Mais c’est pas grave mon coeur
Si tu n’veux pas qu’on s’aime
Moi, je regarde ailleurs
Refrain
Et on reste tous les deux là
À attendre que ça passe
Y’a tant de choses autour de moi
Que sur cette place, tout doucement
Tu t’effaces.
Dors dors dors
Mon pauvre amour
Dans ma belle galaxie
Tu n’as fait qu’un aller-retour
Fermes encore tes paupières
Et moi comme un garçon
Qui n’veut plus d’son ballon
Je te lancerai dans les airs
Refrain
Et on reste tous les deux là (...)
The lyrics of Saule's song Western is a story of a man who observes the happenings in Place aux clampins. He sees an old woman walking her dog and a lone candy on a bench. On the same square, there are the rays of the sun shining on the eyes of old people, making them sparkle. But amidst all these, his attention goes to someone who doesn't speak to him. He accepts the silence and focuses on what's around him. The chorus talks about the two of them just being there and waiting for things to pass. The man sees that there's so much around him, and the person he's with slowly fades away.
The latter part of the song is a lullaby that the man sings to his love. He tells his love to sleep in his beautiful galaxy, where his love's only been on a one-way journey. He urges his love to close his/her eyes and promises to throw the love up in the air like a boy who no longer wants his balloon. The song ends with a repetition of the chorus, emphasizing that the two of them are alone.
