They have been playing for decades for international audiences, taking their tropical interpretations worldwide. For salseros everywhere such songs as "Las caleñas son como las flores", "Buscandote", "Dale al bombo", "Sobre las olas" and "Fuma el barco" are easily recognized and welcomed whenever they perform. "Las caleñas" has also been remixed into a more dancefloor friendly version and released on a whitelabel by Los Hermanos Latinos.
Several famous musicians have recorded for The Latin Brothers. One of them was the Cuban musician Alfredo de la Fe, nominated for two Grammys in 1980 and Violinist of the Year from 1977 to 1981 by the Latin New York Awards. You also have the vocalists Will Pertuz and Yorthley Rivas, who also recorded for Cariaco, and Joseito Martínez who had an international hit with The Latin Brothers called "Sobre las olas".
Today, with Julio Ernesto Estrada (Fruko) as musical director, they have directed their course toward the continuance of their unique salsa rhythm - realsing their 18th album featuring singer Joséito Martínez as lead vocal.

The Latin Brothers Lyrics

Estoy intranquilo no sé que hacer
Ayer la vieron en la quebrada
Me fui solito y no la encontré
Ya se fue mi compañera
Solo me dejó el retrato
Lo guardo en mi cabecera
Para consolarme un rato
Y así fue mi idolatría
Se fue y me dejó llorando
Para mí la noche es día
Yo no como yo no duermo
Quique!
Con sabor pa' la mami
Y vuelve otra vez
Marcando el paso
Dónde estás mi dulce encanto
Dónde estás que no te veo
Ven pronto a calmar mi llanto
Ven a mí este deseo
Lalalalala a lalala
Dice
Dice así
No la busques más
Déjala vagar
Corazón no sufras
No la busques más
Déjala vagar
Déjala vagar, quiere andar el mundo, ya se cansará
No la busques más, déjala vagar, algún día volverá
Yo te lo digo quique
The Latin Brothers' song Buscandote tells the story of a man who is searching for his lost love. He is anxious and doesn't know what to do, but he has heard that she was seen in the hills or "quebrada." Despite his efforts, he cannot find her, and all he has left of her is a photograph that he keeps by his bedside to comfort him. He is consumed by his love for her and cannot eat or sleep, and the night feels like day to him because he is so tormented.
The lyrics are emotional and poignant, expressing the pain of love lost and the longing for what is gone. The singer addresses his lost love directly, asking where she is and begging her to come back to him. He is caught between the desire to hold onto her and the realization that she might never return. The chorus, with its repeated refrain of "Déjala vagar" or "let her wander," speaks to the idea of letting go and accepting that sometimes, love must be allowed to wander freely.
Overall, Buscandote is a beautiful and heartfelt song that captures the universal experience of lost love and the search for reconciliation.

Buscando vivo a mi prenda amada
I am searching for my beloved partner who is alive

I am restless and do not know what to do
Ayer la vieron en la quebrada
Yesterday, someone saw her in the ravine
Me fui solito y no la encontré
I went alone and did not find her
Ya se fue mi compañera
My partner has already left
Solo me dejó el retrato
She only left me with the picture
Lo guardo en mi cabecera
I keep it at the head of my bed
Para consolarme un rato
To console me for a while
Y así fue mi idolatría
And thus was my idolatry
Se fue y me dejó llorando
She left and left me crying
Para mí la noche es día
For me, night is day
Yo no como yo no duermo
I do not eat or sleep
Con sabor pa' la mami
With flavor for mommy

And returns again

Dónde estás mi dulce encanto
Where are you, my sweet charm

Let her roam, she wants to wander the world, she will get tired
No la busques más, déjala vagar, algún día volverá
Don't search for her anymore, let her roam, someday she will come back
Yo te lo digo quique
I'm telling you, Quique
