Allons nous coucher

Dehors il ne fait pas chaud,
On est lundi, le ciel est gris
Et je suis tombé de mon lit
Les nouvelles ne sont pas belles,
On les jette à la poubelle.
Quelle grisaille, quelle grisaille,
Et l'amour n'est plus qu'un p'tit détail,
Allons nous coucher.
Je me réveille au printemps,
Il fait doux, j'aime ce temps;
J'irais me coucher,
J'irais me coucher,
Allons nous coucher
Allons nous coucher
The song "Allons nous coucher" by Thomas Fersen talks about the struggles and mundaneness of everyday life. The opening lines express the feeling of being internally happy despite the cold and grey atmosphere outside. The lyrics then describe the dullness of Mondays and how the news is filled with negative content, which adds to the gloominess. The love element is also mentioned, but it is referred to as a minor detail. The chorus, "Allons nous coucher" which means "Let's go to bed," tells us that the singer wants to escape the dullness of daily life and simply go to bed.
However, the verse that follows offers a more uplifting scenario. The singer wakes up in the springtime to find everything blossoming and beautiful. They then proceed to have a romantic encounter with someone special, and they disconnect from the outside world by not answering the phone. The second chorus reminds us that the best way to forget all the daily troubles and worries is to go to bed with someone special.
The final verse describes the singer's return home, where they lie down and unwind. They talk about the comfort of sleeping and how it helps you forget about everything. The verse ends on a positive note, with the singer looking forward to the next day, where they plan to go to their "little field" and sleep there.
