One Night Stand
The Partridge Family Lyrics

Every night - a different town - I sing my song
I play and sing - pack my things and move along

A pretty face, another place I never get to know
A one night stand, another show

My guitar - a railroad car - a bus or plane
Chocolate bar - and there you are - the price of fame

If I could do what I want to, I'd stay and never go
A one night stand is all I know

I wish that I could be two people
Instead of bein' on my own
I wish that I could be two people
And then I'd never be alone

Photographs of where I've been and all I've done
In this whole world - is there a girl - no, not one

Goodbye, hello - I've got to go - I hope you understand
A one night man is all I am
A one night stand, a one night man.

Doo doo doo...
Goodbye, hello - I've got to go - I hope you understand
A one night man is all I am
A one night stand, a one night man

Doo doo doo...

One of my favorites as well.

Yes, you are so correct. And the musicianship on all of the Partridge songs was impeccable. The backup vocals are always superb. It's hard to believe they were basically slamming these songs through, one after the other. They are all so polished, as if the musicians had spent many hours on them.

This is infinite, The sound of this as well as songs like #summerdays are sounding better today than they even did back then. Taking on a almost spiritual feel. Like they are transcending time and space. I think it’s time to re-release these songs so the new generation can experience them, they are quite profound. #DavidCassidy

My two faves! "Transcending time and space"... youth, and how I thought of older people. I'm young and small and lean and clear and bright and full of wonder and rhythm and driving beat. Actually.....I just turned 61 and it's the weirdest thing. How did that happen?? I miss it. I'd love to be younger again.....not "young", but i mean: the energy and resilience. ...and only if it could be in the past. I wouldn't want to be young now. They're missing SO much ......Groove. Its just not available for the taking anymore. We were so lucky and I'm so grateful.
