@sex6cult9revolution Calling the facts irrelevant doesn't save you from the fact that you just lost.

Love Beach is better than most of their albums.

"ELP also didn't have the lasting popularity that Led Zep has."

Yeah. They aren't as good. That's the point. Other bands that never had a number one hit sold several times as many albums with careers half the length.

"ELP was big back back then"

Never had a top ten hit.

"They didn't co-headline Cal Jam in 1974"

You are so desperate that you are bringing up some obscure concert I never heard of.

"ELP and Purple were huge"

Never been true. At least Deep Purple had a hit though.

Has the dawn ever seen your eyes?
Have the days made you so unwise?
Realize, you are
Had you talked to the winds of time
Then you'd know how the waters rhyme
Taste of wine
How can you know where you've been?
In time you'll see the sign
And realize your sin
Will you know how the seed is sown?
All your time has been overgrown
Never known
Have you walked on the stones of years?
When you speak, is it you that hears?
Are your ears full?
You can't hear anything at all
The preacher said a prayer
Save every single hair on his head
He's dead
The minister of hate had just arrived too late to be spared
Who cared?
The weaver in the web that he made
The pilgrim wandered in
Commiting every sin that he could
So good
The cardinal of grief was set in his belief he'd saved
From the grave
The weaver in the web that he made
The high priest took a blade
To bless the ones that prayed
And all obeyed
The messenger of fear is slowly growing, nearer to the time
A sign
The weaver in the web that he made
A bishops rings a bell
A cloak of darkness fell across the ground
Without a sound
The silent choir sing and in their silence
Bring jaded sound, harmonic ground
The weaver in the web that he made
Clear the battlefield and let me see
All the profit from our victory
You talk of freedom, starving children fall
Are you deaf when you hear the season's call?
Were you there to watch the earth be scorched?
Did you stand beside the spectral torch?
Know the leaves of sorrow turned their face
Scattered on the ashes of disgrace
Every blade is sharp; the arrows fly
Where the victims of your armies lie
Where the blades of brass and arrows reign
Then there will be no sorrow
Be no pain

Carl Palmer was one of the reasons I became interested in percussion instruments. Thanks to him, I became a truck driver.

People in the comments of old songs featured in JoJo always hem & haw about the influx of younger people, but what isn't typically realized is that many, including myself, are just so utterly thankful to the series for leading us to such amazing music. I never would've found prog on my own, but thanks to JoJo, I found Yes, ELP, King Crimson, & all of the amazing acts that I found through those channels. I'm a die-hard prog fan now, & I almost never found any of it. Thank you to Araki for giving us his personal playlist for 33 years & counting, & thank you to the prog lifers who ensured the next generations could find this music.

don't forget Final Fantasy, it's what led me to them. Up through FFVI Uematsu's music was very heavily inspired by ELP. Great because it's music that works even with the limitations of console synths but also just brought a complexity beyond most 8- and 16-bit console music.

Can we have an applause for all the Chads dropping god tier music recomendations in this thread? so many cool bands.
If you like Prog, give Van Der Graaf Generator a try, on of my favorite bands ever. Also Hawkwind slays, they got referenced in Jojolion and they also had Lemmy from Motorhead, its the heaviest prog/space band of all time!!!!.

Jojo is fine (Part 3 and 5 the best for me), just don't go near the hardcore jojo nerds because they literally just talk about jojo and nothing else.
