青葉城恋唄大好きです。夫達が元気で若く我が家に集まっては、酒を飲み皆で歌っていました。皆みんな亡くなり、この歌を聴くと涙が溢れて来ます。けれど、聞きたく機会があればリクエストして、スナックやカラオケや歌声喫茶でも歌ってもらいます。昭和の終わり、平成良い歌です。

伊坂幸太郎の小説に出会い、その憧れの舞台である仙台に住みたくて猛勉強し東北大学へ行きました。仙台の方は札幌から来た僕を暖かく迎え入れてくださり、緑にあふれる街も本当に美しかったです。仙台は私の青春時代そのもの。離れた今もこの曲を聴くと広瀬川に沿って下る坂道を友とほろ酔いで歩いた日々を思い出し胸が締め付けられます。

仙台に生まれて、広瀬川のすぐ側で育って、就職で首都圏に出てきました。病気をして、色々うまくいかなくて、これから実家に帰るのですが、宗さんのこの唄を聴くと故郷の思い出と涙が目に浮かびます。仙台に居た頃よりずっと、この唄が愛おしいです。
