According to the Internet Movie Database and as of First Quarter 2006, Hayashibara is the most prolific female seiyū with 190 credits to her name (though only behind Takehito Koyasu and Shinichirou Miki, but closely tied in rank with Kappei Yamaguchi). [1], [2] She is arguably the best known anime seiyū outside Japan, and is considered by some anime fans to be the "queen" of the seiyū, due mostly to the prolific nature of her voice in major roles. In addition to her voice acting career, she occasionally puts out solo musical albums, although she is virtually unknown in the music industry outside of Japan save for the recognition of television theme songs that she has performed.
In Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. 2nd GIG in 2004, Hayashibara potrayed one episode before her maternity leave and another episode after her return from her maternity leave. In 2005, while continuing portray her regular roles in "Pokemon" and "Detective Conan" and Playstation games, Hayashibara didn't appear in any new anime shows for 2005 (except for "Law of ueki") for unknown reasons. In 2006, she returned to her state starting her guest role in "Inukami".
She also writes her own Manga. Megumi-Toons is the popular English title for an autobiographical manga series written by voice actress Megumi Hayashibara. The art for the series was done by Asagi Sakura.

The lyrics of 林原めぐみ's song BECAUSE evoke a sense of connection with nature and the emotions that come with finding love. The opening lines, "Close your eyes and listen to the voice of the wind // The seeds of flowers blooming on the warm hill // Will be carried to the snow-covered town," set a tranquil and reflective mood as the singer immerses themselves in the beauty of the natural world and prepares to embark on a journey.
As the song progresses, the lyrics delve into themes of faith, hope, and inner strength. The lines "Even to those who won't believe unless they see // And to this balcony // A day will come when small flower petals sway in the spring sunshine" speak to the idea that belief and beauty can be found even in unexpected places or moments, emphasizing the cyclical nature of life and the promise of new beginnings.
The chorus of the song emphasizes the transformative power of love, as expressed through the lines "From the same sky, gentle light // To the same sky, gentle feelings // When you find yourself loving someone // Only then will you truly understand." Love is portrayed as a catalyst for self-discovery and a source of profound insight, highlighting the emotional depth and complexity of human relationships.
The final verses of the song touch on themes of simplicity, authenticity, and self-discovery. The lyrics suggest that true happiness can be found in the absence of material desires, and that authenticity and clarity of heart will eventually lead to a sense of fulfillment. The repeated refrain "Because I met you" underscores the significance of the connection with the beloved in shaping one's perspective and sense of purpose, ultimately suggesting that love and personal growth are intertwined in a profound and enlightening way.
