The Rise of Chaos
Accept Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Everybody's out to get me
This new world's trying to take me down
Break free but it won't let me
Right now there's only one way out

All fight for survival
In this apocalyptic maze
Caught in a downward spiral
Right through a cataclysmic blaze

All hell around you
Just a continual descent
Bedlam sorrounds you
It's the beginning of the end

It's the rise of chaos
The rats will rule this sinking ship
The rise of chaos
Surrender your souls and come to grips

No rules, laws or borders
Killing for guns and gasoline
This is the new world order
A blackened future unforeseen

All hell around you
Just a continual descent
Bedlam sorrounds you
It's the beginning of the end

It's the rise of chaos
The rats will rule this sinking ship

The rise of chaos
Surrender your souls and come to grips

Overall Meaning

The lyrics in Accept's song The Rise of Chaos paint a picture of a post-apocalyptic world where chaos and destruction reign supreme. The singer expresses a feeling of being hunted as the new world tries to take them down, but they cannot break free from its grasp. They acknowledge that the only way out is through fighting for survival in an apocalyptic maze, caught in a downward spiral through a cataclysmic blaze. The sense of doom is palpable as bedlam surrounds them, and the beginning of the end is at hand.

The rise of chaos seems to represent the collapse of societal norms and values, where there are no rules, laws, or borders. The only things that matter are the resources necessary for survival such as guns and gasoline. This new world order is blackened and unforeseen, leaving the lead character feeling overwhelmed and helpless. Amidst all the chaos, the rats (perhaps a metaphor for those willing to do anything to survive) will rule the sinking ship, and those who have survived must surrender their souls and come to grips with this new reality.

Overall, The Rise of Chaos seems to be a warning of what could happen if societal structures break down. It portrays a bleak future where survival is the only thing that matters, and the rest is chaos.

Hell Yeah I love U.D.O and Accept I’m 21 going on 22 later this year and I’ve loved Rock And Metal since I was a kid when my Dad got me into classic rock n roll and heavy metal Udo Dirkschneider is one of my favourite metal singers I saw U.D.O Live 2 years ago here in Edmonton on March 16th 2018 at The Starlite Room when they played Accept songs for the last time it was a great show and I’ll always forever love rock and metal until the day I die🤘

Yeah .. so true

UglyNova Games

it's funny because of how legendary this band is, but in the 2010's, they got heavier and even better than ever

Alex Paulsen

Yeah, Mark Tornillo is a whole lot better than Shortarsemcgrumpnuts. I don't care for people who refuse to accept (no pun intended) Accept's recent career, they're better now than they ever were, and only a moron would disagree.

Pedro Trejo

I personally like both frontman but Mark is what really got me into accept but that song TV Wars during UDOs years is out of this world :0

zrušit

that split was actually good thing, instead of one good band you got two :D
