In my opinion, this is the most atmospheric music in Portal 2. It really gives you a sense that you are messing with materials from the future.

And because all the top comments have quotes ;) "Alright, this next test may involve trace amounts of time travel. So, word of advice: If you meet yourself on the testing track, don't make eye contact. Lab boys tell me that'll wipe out time. Entirely. Forward and backward. So, do both of yourselves a favour and just let that handsome devil go about his business"

Probably my favorite cave johnson quote EVER.

@cognitiveAfflatus borealis teleporting in and out of time space our universe dimension and many other places
also I'm not sure about the annihilating time thing real time travel is absolutely fucky

cognitiveAfflatus

you know, considering the portal gun, aperture's multi-dimensional testing program, and the fact this took place in the same universe as the resonance cascade, i dont think it's too far fetched to assume aperture stole/made a time machine to get materials from the future to market as their own now that i think about it.

wonder if all this time travel/space travel bullshit has something to do with what was on the borealis. makes you think.

I love the old Aperture and its test chambers. The calm atmosphere and how you can experiment with certain stuff especially in the old ones and gels. It's really cool and the music is great too. That's not to say the modern test chambers aren't good, they are, it's just I found some of them too linear and the 1950s test chambers really let you explore the most. It felt so weird to be back to modern test chambers after all that fun and enjoyment I had with the old chambers, lol. The modern ones are fun too, btw.

I loved the atmosphere of being thousands of miles underground, all alone aside from GladOS, slowly climbing your way upwards through the decades back to the modern era. I don't think I've ever played another game that captured that particular feeling.

Love how the soundtrack is interactive with what you are doing at the time.
