Alien Inside
Arca Lyrics

A star
A soft memory turning away from starlight to self
Asking to remember
The first death
The last birth
The first time you recognize the alien inside
In the face of abject misery
You remember the post human celestial sparkle
A mutant faith
A mutant faith
An identity faith
Perhaps nothing but a chance construct
(Construct) your vanity or your sanctuary
(Construct) your vanity or your sanctuary
Your sanctuary, or your sanctuary
Or your sanctuary, or your sanctuary

''A star
A soft memory turning away from starlight to self
I'll ask you to remember
The first death
The last birth
The first time you recognized the alien inside
In the face of abject misery
Remember the post human celestial sparkle
A mutant faith
A mutant faith
An identity faith
Or perhaps nothing but an abstract construct
Your vanity or your sanctuary
Your vanity or your sanctuary
Or your sanctuary, or your sanctuary
Or your sanctuary, or your sanctuary''.

Just wonderful.

"The Alien Inside"

[Lyrics]
A star
A soft memory turning away from starlight to self
Asking to remember
The first death
The last birth
The first time you recognised the alien inside
In the face of abject misery
You remember, remember, remember the posthuman celestial sparkle
A mutant faith
A mutant faith
An identity, be
Perhaps nothing but a chance construct
Your vanity (Construct)
Your vanity, or your sanctuary
Your vanity (Construct)
Your vanity, or your sanctuary
Your sanctuary, or your sanctuary
Or your sanctuary
Or your sanctuary

she's got a point, she's a legend, she's an icon, and she IS the moment

most unoriginal and annoying comment in existence

@SeanLawrenceMusic

This is all about coming out and living as trans and/or queer. Remembering your last death in society living in the norms expected of you, and your last birth as an 'out' person. Feeling like a 'mutant,' or 'alien,' when you realize you are different and end up excluded in abject misery from the majority. Nothing but a chance construct, a small chance being born as LGBT. Then, is leaning into your identity a sanctuary to feel safe, or is it vanity and self-important? Can it be both a place to feel safe and self-important? I love this piece

@cybergeralt7917

thank you so much for your analysis!! i couldnt quite grasp the "your vanity or your sanctuary" at first but you put it into words so eloquently!
