1) Ataraxia was a pseudonym used by experimental electronic musician Mort Garson only on his 1975 album "The Unexplained: Electronic Musical Impressions of the Occult".
2) Ataraxia, formed in 1985, is a neofolk / neoclassical band from Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy, that combines modern technology with archaic instrumentation over various media. They describe their music as a cross "between sacred and profane, ethereal and neoclassic, contemporary and early music." Their work has often involved research into European legends and Classical mythology. Contemplation, dreamy experiences, elegiac atmospheres, ritual movements float in a mysterious garden where contemporary textures of notes meet the embracing echo of classic sounds. Their lyrics are written in many ancient and contemporary languages (such as Latin, French, German, English, and their native Italian) as they try to bring to the surface the hidden treasures and revelations of each. Many of their performances take place in locations the band professes to possess specific spiritual qualities. Since their beginnings in the late 1980s, they have recorded over 20 original LPs every one presenting its own original concept. To name just a few, La Malédiction d'Ondine (1995) deals with female spirits of water and earth; while “Llyr” (2010) tells the story of a divine being traveling through times and forms. Their last work Quasar (2020) is dedicated to 7 archangelic archetypes.
Some of their earlier long sold-out albums have been recently re-released with numerous bonus-tracks.

I Love Every Waving Thing
Ataraxia Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
spying the sea
I love every waving thing
When I smiled
my teeth were mysterious
there are waves in my soul
The edge of my clothes
was salty and fresh
Speak to me of my death
so that I feel a reason to remember
Today I'm afraid of having been
The lyrics of Ataraxia's song I Love Every Waving Thing convey the idea of a lifelong fascination with the sea and its ever-changing waves. The singer of the poem has spent their entire life observing the sea and its waves and is in awe of its beauty. The opening line "I spent the flight of my days spying the sea" suggests that the singer has dedicated their life to watching the sea and observing its many moods.
The line "I love every waving thing" is repeated throughout the song as a way of expressing the depth of the singer's admiration for the sea. The sea is personified as having waves that are a part of the singer's soul making them feel a connection with its endless beauty. The line "When I smiled, my teeth were mysterious" hints at the singer's transcendental experience while watching the sea. The sea is a mystery, and the singer's smile suggests that they have found some kind of profound meaning in its waves.
The last few lines of the song express a sense of fear and finality. The singer asks to be spoken to about their death so that they have a reason to remember, suggesting that their life has been unremarkable up until now. The final line "Today I'm afraid of having been" conveys a sense of regret and disappointment about the singer's life.

I spent the flight of my days
I have used up the time of my life
spying the sea
watching the ocean carefully
I love every waving thing
I cherish anything that moves in a flowing manner
When I smiled
At a time when I was happy
my teeth were mysterious
I had a secret smile
there are waves in my soul
my emotions are tumultuous like the ocean waves
The edge of my clothes
The border of my apparel
was salty and fresh
It carried the flavor of the sea, both briny and new
I love every waving thing
I adore anything that undulates
Speak to me of my death
tell me about my mortality
so that I feel a reason to remember
I need a cause to recall
Today I'm afraid of having been
Presently, I am scared of my past
