A throwback to the flower power era, '60s revivalists Brigitte are a French female duo combining lounge-pop, retro folk, and French cabaret to produce an authentic hippie-chic sound. Named in honor of several of the decade's icons (Bardot, Fontaine, Lahaie), Aurelie Maggiori, who had previously recorded under the name of Mayane Delem, and Sylvie Hoarau, formerly the lead vocalist in Parisian rock band Vendetta, formed their duo in 2008. After recording a cover version of Michel Jonasz's "Les Vacances au Bord de la Mer" for Delem's former bandmate Benoit Petre's film Thelma Louise et Chantal, the pair signed to Wagram Records and released an EP, Battez-Vous, which featured a unique take on Suprême NTM's '90s hip-hop anthem "Ma Benz." Co-written with Franco-Lebanese singer/songwriter Camille Bazbaz and French troubadour Albin de la Simone, their debut album, Et Vous, Tu M'aimes?, was released in 2011. ~ Jon O'Brien, Rovi

In Brigitte's song "Et Claude François," the lyrics tell the story of a woman who has moved on from a past love, but is unexpectedly confronted by the man once again. The song draws inspiration from the classic French song "Comme d'habitude," which was made famous by Claude François in the 1960s and later adapted into the English-language hit "My Way" by Frank Sinatra. The opening line "Et tu reviens comme d'habitude" ("And you come back as usual") references this original song and sets the tone for the rest of the lyrics, which describe the woman's inner struggle to resist the man's charms despite her better judgement.
Throughout the song, the woman asserts her independence and proclaims that she will not fall for the man's tricks again. She lists all the ways she has tried to move on from their past relationship, from changing her address to getting a new job and hairstyle. Despite her efforts, however, the man's presence still has the power to seduce her. I don't know what's stopping me from hitting you"), but ultimately gives in to her feelings and decides to take him back once again.
Overall, "Et Claude François" is a poignant tribute to the power of past relationships and the stubbornness of the human heart. The song's emotional depth and introspective lyrics make it a standout track on Brigitte's album.

Et tu reviens
You come back
Comme d'habitude
As usual
Comme dans ce foutu vieux refrain
Like in that cursed old song
Qui me colle et m'englue
That sticks to me and traps me
However, I had changed my address and work
De coiffure, de caisse
My hairstyle and car
J'ai dit bye-bye
I said goodbye
To everything that brought me back to you
Et te r'voilà
And here you are again
Avec ce sourire de cowboy qui me cloue et me tue
With that cowboy smile that nails me and kills me
However, I don't know what prevents me from punching you
You're not the one who will get me the moon
My animal holds on, and I can't help it
Et j'te reviens, comme d'habitude
And I come back to you, as usual
And you leave, as usual
But this time, if it's decided, you won't catch me again
Ce petit jeu stupide est révolu
This stupid little game is over
Tu feras moins le malin
You won't be so smart
Comme d'habitude
As usual
Et tu t'en vas
And you leave
Comme d'habitude
As usual
Et j'te retiens
And I hold you back
Comme d'habitude
As usual
Et moi j'aime pas
And I don't like it
Comme d'habitude
As usual
Et Claude François
And Claude François
