Babe, you choose what you wanna do
Don't want my Ruby in the dust
Lost and lonely, babe, then you must
Understand that I am here
And you come to me
My Ruby
Babe you loose what you're trying to prove
Don't want my Ruby in the dust
Lost and lonely, babe, then we must
Understand that I am here
And you can come to me
Understand that I am near
And you belong to me
My Ruby
The song "Ruby" by Camille is a tender and loving ballad that is addressed to someone named Ruby. The singer is worried about Ruby's safety and wants her to know that she can rely on her. The opening line "Ruby, what am I gonna do with you?" sets the tone for the rest of the song. It suggests a close relationship where the singer is concerned about Ruby's well-being. The second line "Babe, you choose what you wanna do" indicates that the singer is not trying to control Ruby but wants to help her choose the right path.
The chorus "Don't want my Ruby in the dust, Lost and lonely, babe, then you must understand that I am here" shows the depth of the singer's feelings for Ruby. The singer wants Ruby to know that she is there for her if she needs her. The repetition of the name Ruby further emphasizes the connection between the two, and the use of the word "babe" conveys an intimate and caring tone.
The second verse "Ruby, what a life you choose, Babe you loose what you're trying to prove" shows the singer's concern that Ruby is making choices that will harm her. The repetition of the chorus indicates that the singer is still there for Ruby and wants to keep her safe.
