La Aplanadora del Rock is known for mixing rock with Argentine folk music, and hard-to-get lyrics. The most successful point on the band's career came with the 1993 record La era de la boludez.
Other than founding members Mollo and Arnedo, different drummers have completed the normal trio: 1988 to 1990, Gustavo Collado; 1990 to 1995, Federico Gil Solá; 1995 to 2004, Jorge Araujo; and since 2004, Catriel Ciavarella.
The name of the band is taken from Sumo's favourite band and influences (the late Ian Curtis was a good friend of Luca Prodan) - Joy Division.
The band has recorded a number of covers, such as Voodoo Child by Jimi Hendrix and Light My Fire by The Doors. Covers not committed to CD include I Want You (She's So Heavy) and Day Tripper by The Beatles. In their shows, Divididos has played songs such as "Rock and Roll" and "Moby Dick" (Led Zeppelin), and "Little Wing" (Jimi Hendrix). The band also covers some Sumo songs, usually in medley format.

Divididos Lyrics

yo pregunto ¿cuanto es?
La gente se desviste
en este ácido mundial
cae el atardecer
es como bostezar
principio why final.
Suda el mundo hoy
decía papá.
La gente se divierte
yo pregunto ¿cuanto es?
La gente se destruye
fagosita why amasija entre si.
Casting de mesías
rumbo a la TV
días de perdón virtual
las tripas cantoras
de este hambre mundial
dan vida a este monstruo paquete.
La gente se divierte
yo pregunto ¿cuanto es?, ¿cuanto es?
La gente se desviste
En este ácido mundial.
The song "La Gente Se Divierte" by Divididos is a commentary on the modern world and how society seeks pleasure and entertainment at the expense of deeper values. The lyrics question how much is too much when it comes to indulging in fun and shed light on the destructive behaviors that can come from excessive partying and indulgence. The imagery of the sunset is used to represent the end of an era and a shift towards a more superficial culture where people are driven by their base desires rather than by purpose or meaning.
The song references the manipulation of society by the media through its portrayal of a casting of messiahs on TV and days of virtual forgiveness. The lyrics also allude to the disregard for basic human dignity through the image of people destroying themselves in a frenzy of self-indulgence. The phrase "las tripas cantoras" or "singing guts" adds an element of grotesqueness to the imagery, highlighting just how far people will go to experience pleasure.
Overall, "La Gente Se Divierte" is a critique of modern society and its obsession with pleasure and entertainment. The song calls for a deeper sense of meaning and purpose, reminding listeners that there is more to life than just having fun.
