The band eventually broke up in 1996 and Bunbury started his solo career in 1997 with a techno album, Radical Sonora with his new band: Copi (piano), del Moran (bass), Ramón Gacias (drums) and former Héroes del Silencio guitarrist Alan Boguslavsky.
Recognized by his wish to always reinvent himself, Bunbury released in 1999 the album Pequeño, which sounded much different than anything he did before. His band also suffered changes, Boguslavsky was replaced by Rafa Domínguez, and the new faces, Ana Belén Estaje (violin), Luis Miguel Romero (percussion), Javier Iñigo, Javier García Vega & Antonio Ríos in the metal instruments.
This band was known as the "Huracán Ambulante" ("Rambling Hurricane") and recorded with Bunbury the rest of his solo discography, (except Antonio Ríos).
In 2005, after 8 years together, Bunbury dissolved the band and declared that will record a new album in 2006 only with his voice and a piano. Nevertheless, in early 2006 he recorded an album with spanish artist Nacho Vegas by the name of El tiempo de las cerezas.
His old band, Héroes del Silencio, reunited in 2007 for a short tour which visited Latin America, United States and Spain.
Encadenados

En estado de algodón
Dulce incendio de mamey
Elixir sagrado de escorpión
El espíritu se eleva
Cuando la materia se libera
Así caemos al precipicio
De nuestros bribones apetitos
Por todos mis pecados
Para vivir encadenados
En la resurrección, sí
De la carne
Así son de imperativos
Los asaltos del deseo
Embistiendo otra vez al abordaje
En el rapto carnal de vaciarme
Pedirá el perdón
Por todos mis pecados
Para vivir encadenados
En la resurrección
De la carne
Aprendí leyes para las reinas
Aprendí todas las técnicas
Aprendí el ritmo de contención
Sólo para complacerlas
En la resurrección, sí
De la carne
En la resurrección, sí
The lyrics of Enrique Bunbury's song Encadenados explores the themes of desire, sin, and redemption. The opening line, "Mujeres son metales en estado de algodón" (Women are metals in a state of cotton), sets the tone for the song's message that although women are soft and delicate like cotton, they can be as strong as metal. The following lines, "Dulce incendio de mamey, Elixir sagrado de escorpión" (Sweet fire of mamey, sacred elixir of the scorpion) implies a hedonistic pleasure, akin to the dangerous potency of a scorpion's sting.
The second verse continues with the theme of sin and desire, as the singer says, "Así son de imperativos los asaltos del deseo" (Thus are the assaults of desire so imperative). The singer is wrestling with his inner demons, describing the "rapto carnal de vaciarme" (carnal seizure of emptying myself) that desire brings. However, the song also provides a message of hope for redemption, as the singer asks for forgiveness for his sins and seeks to live "encadenados" (chained) in the resurrection of the flesh.
Overall, the song Encadenados is a reflection on the complexities of desire, sin, and redemption, acknowledging the power that these themes have over the human experience.
