The band eventually broke up in 1996 and Bunbury started his solo career in 1997 with a techno album, Radical Sonora with his new band: Copi (piano), del Moran (bass), Ramón Gacias (drums) and former Héroes del Silencio guitarrist Alan Boguslavsky.
Recognized by his wish to always reinvent himself, Bunbury released in 1999 the album Pequeño, which sounded much different than anything he did before. His band also suffered changes, Boguslavsky was replaced by Rafa Domínguez, and the new faces, Ana Belén Estaje (violin), Luis Miguel Romero (percussion), Javier Iñigo, Javier García Vega & Antonio Ríos in the metal instruments.
This band was known as the "Huracán Ambulante" ("Rambling Hurricane") and recorded with Bunbury the rest of his solo discography, (except Antonio Ríos).
In 2005, after 8 years together, Bunbury dissolved the band and declared that will record a new album in 2006 only with his voice and a piano. Nevertheless, in early 2006 he recorded an album with spanish artist Nacho Vegas by the name of El tiempo de las cerezas.
His old band, Héroes del Silencio, reunited in 2007 for a short tour which visited Latin America, United States and Spain.
Un Baston Para Tu Corazon

El tiempo no es un doctor
Mala racha, mala estampa
Y un bastón para el corazón
Con anestesia no hay dolor
Póngame la inyección
Lo que no importa ya
Los años nos hacen mejores o ¿no?
Si puedes encajar
Los golpes como un hombre
Un sparring profesional
La vida es póquer
Y las cartas no las vas a elegir
Los ases en la manga no te va a servir
Pues si te falta
Un bastón para tu corazón
Si te falta
Un bastón para tu corazón
Si te falta
Un bastón para tu corazón
Apaga y vámonos
The lyrics of Enrique Bunbury's song "Un Bastón Para Tu Corazon" convey a message about the struggles of life and dealing with heartbreak. The opening lines "El tiempo no cura nada, el tiempo no es un doctor" which translate to "Time heals nothing, time is not a doctor" suggest that time cannot always heal emotional pain. The following lines "Mala racha, mala estampa y un bastón para el corazón" which translate to "Bad luck, bad omen, and a cane for the heart" further emphasize the idea that sometimes we need support to deal with the hardships we encounter.
The next lines "Con anestesia no hay dolor, póngame la inyección" which translate to "With anesthesia, there is no pain, give me the injection" could be interpreted as wanting to numb the pain of heartbreak. However, the subsequent lines "El tiempo solo te sana lo que no importa ya" which translate to "Time only heals what no longer matters" suggest that it's important to not dwell on the past and instead focus on moving forward. The lyrics continue to explain that time can make us better, but only if we learn to handle life's punches like a professional sparring partner.
Overall, the song "Un Bastón Para Tu Corazon" highlights the theme of resilience and the importance of finding support during tough times. The lyrics paint a picture of the struggles we all face in life, but ultimately encourages listeners to keep pushing forward.
