The lyrics to Fairuz's Song "Torok Ourashaleem" describe the city of Jerusalem as a place of lamentation due to the absence of people who used to come for festivals. All its doors are destroyed, its priests are lamenting, and its virgins are in bitterness. The lyrics convey a sense of pain and loss as the city's inhabitants wait for the Lord's salvation. The singer also praises the Lord for His mercy towards those who patiently wait for Him. The song implies that even though the city may be in ruins, the Lord is still present and has the power to show mercy and bring salvation.
The song captures the spirit of the people of Jerusalem and their faith in the Lord. The lyrics encourage those who are waiting for the Lord's salvation to continue to hope and trust in Him. They also express the idea that prayer and calling on the Lord's name can bring comfort and peace.
Overall, the song is a powerful representation of the city's spiritual depth and the resilience of its people in the face of hardship and destruction.
