Biography
The young François Feldman spent his adolescence listening soul music, including songs by Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and James Brown, among other artists. His father gave him his first guitar at fourteen years of age, and François won first prize several times in the radio contests he entered. He created his first group at the age of 14 and appeared in a few clubs. In 1980, Feldman recorded his first song, "You Want Every Night", then "Ma Petite Vidéo" in 1982, "Folle sur les bords" in 1983 summer, "Wally boule noire" and "Obsession" in 1984, and finally "Amour de corridor" in 1985, but all these singles remained unsuccessful.
In 1986, he became famous with his song "Rien que pour toi" which reached number 12 on the SNEP Singles Chart and sold 200,000 units. Thereafter, Feldman had many hits in France, becoming a well established star in France. He has sold very well over his 25-year career, selling about ten million albums in several countries, including Belgium, Italy, Canada and Japan.
Released in 1989, his second studio album entitled Une Présence was more successful and contains several hit singles, such as "Joue pas", recorded as a duet with Joniece Jamison, "Les Valses de Vienne", "Petit Frank" and "C'est toi qui m'as fait" which were all top-2 hits in France. The same year, he wrote the hit single "J'aurais voulu te dire" for Caroline Legrand. This album was followed by Magic Boul'vard, released in 1991, and provided to Feldman a third number one hit in France, "Joy", a song dedicated to the singer's daughter.
Since 1993, and his album Indigo, Feldman has been less successful and unable to repeat his previous feats on the charts. Despite releasing four albums, he has been almost absent from the media and his sales have become more restricted. He currently continues his artistic career giving popular concerts throughout France.
In 2007, "Rien que pour toi" was covered by Tatiana Laurens who took part in the French TV reality show Secret Story.

J'Aurais Voulu Te Dire
François Feldman Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴
Les ombres ou je me cache pour écouter la pluie
J'aurais voulu te dire
Mes rêves à venir
Mais t′as voulu partir
Alors je les déchire
J'aurais voulu te dire les parfums qui me touchent
J'aurais voulu te dire
A ton premier sourire

The lyrics of François Feldman's song "J'Aurais Voulu Te Dire" express a deep longing to share intimate thoughts and emotions with a departed lover. The singer yearns to communicate the signals in the night, the hidden shadows where they seek solace to listen to the rain. They wanted to confide in their lover about their future dreams and aspirations, but the abrupt departure of their partner shattered these hopes, leading the singer to tear apart these unspoken words of longing and vulnerability.
The lyrics further delve into the singer's desire to express the fragrances that move them, the secrets of their soul that are silenced with a finger on the lips. They wish to reveal to their lover the overwhelming impact of their first smile, their most intense fantasies, and the essence of their desires. The imagery of unspoken confessions and suppressed emotions underscores the profound yearning for connection and understanding that remains unfulfilled due to the absence of the beloved.
The mention of countless declarations of love east of Eden, wild words echoing in the streets of Rome, and forbidden whispers in the depths of Asia evokes a sense of longing that transcends boundaries and cultures. The singer longs to set fire to their lover's eyes with the intensity of their gaze, symbolizing a passionate desire to ignite a flame of passion and intimacy in the midst of separation and distance. The lyrics vividly portray the depth of the singer's love and the relentless pursuit of connection despite physical and emotional barriers.
In the final verse, the singer yearns to convey tender affections that are overwhelming and unforgettable, resorting to even the darkest lies in a desperate attempt to hold onto their lover. They contemplate sharing the secrets that are kept from everyone else, revealing their vulnerability and emotional turmoil as they navigate the tumultuous waters of love and loss. The repetition of these desires and confessions in a chorus amplifies the sense of urgency and longing, painting a poignant picture of a soul on the brink of surrender, reaching out for a connection that seems just out of reach.
