La canzone dell'amore perduto
Gino Paoli Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Con le nostre parole
Non ci lasceremo mai
Mai e poi mai
Vorrei dirti ora le atesse cose
Ma come fan presto amore
Ad appassir le rose cosi per noi
L'amore che strappa i capelli è perduto ormai
Non resta che qualche svogliata carezza
E un po' di tenerezza
E quando ti troverai in mano
Quei fiori appassiti al sole
Di un aprlie ormai lontano
Li rimpiangerai
Ma sara' la prima che incontri per strada che tu
Coprirai d'oro per un bacio mai dato
Per un amore nuovo
The song La canzone dell'amore perduto by Gino Paoli is a bittersweet ballad about lost love and the nostalgic memories that remain. The lyrics reflect on a past relationship, where the singer and their partner shared moments together as beautiful as blooming roses. The chorus reinforces the idea that they will never leave each other, but as the verses continue, we see the reality of how quickly love can fade away. The singer wishes to express their feelings, but time moves so quickly that their words become meaningless once the roses have withered.
The second verse describes the aftermath of the relationship, where the passion has faded and all that remains are half-hearted gestures of tenderness. As the song draws to a close, the image of the fading roses is a metaphor for the end of the relationship, and the final lines suggest that the singer's former lover will move on to someone new, leaving the singer to cling to memories of a love that is forever lost.
Overall, this song captures the painful but universal experience of lost love and the intense longing for what once was. The imagery of the roses as a metaphor for the fleeting nature of love is both beautiful and poignant, and the melody of the song perfectly complements the sadness of the lyrics.

Never and absolutely never
Vorrei dirti ora le atesse cose
I would like to tell you the same things now
Ma come fan presto amore
But how quickly love fades
Ad appassir le rose cosi per noi
And withers the roses for us
L'amore che strappa i capelli è perduto ormai
The love that makes you pull your hair out is lost now
Non resta che qualche svogliata carezza
All that remains are some lazy caresses
E un po' di tenerezza
And a little tenderness
E quando ti troverai in mano
And when you find yourself holding
Quei fiori appassiti al sole
Those withered flowers in the sun
Di un aprlie ormai lontano
Of a distant April
Li rimpiangerai
You'll miss them
Ma sara' la prima che incontri per strada che tu
But it will be the first person you meet on the street
Coprirai d'oro per un bacio mai dato
Whom you will cover in gold for a kiss never given
Per un amore nuovo
For a new love

Come sempre grande Gino!! a differenza di altri non ha copiato lo stile De Andrè, questa è la versione in stile Gino Paoli!!!, altrettanto bella e intensa!
