Gunshae (pronounced Gun-shai) is the Panambient project of Canadian dubstep pioneer, Kuma, and renowned Oboist and DJ, Lady Eve.

Bridging a gap between two very distinct contemporary practices, Gunshae is what happens when a classically trained musician and a veteran DJ and producer with a thing for improvising jam on the sound of stuff and things.

Gunshae is live ambience at its most beguiling, an exploration of the grey area between electronic and classical musics.

It’s molten woodwinds and Satie in dub. It’s heavy drones and show tunes played by a band sitting on a veranda with Wong Kar-Wai. It’s discrete music for the wifi generation.

Tossing aside classical music’s obsession with adherence to the written score and live electronic performance’s stereotype of one guy behind a laptop checking his email, both members of Gunshae have been known to start the show on stage and finish up in the audience. Gunshae are not your average sound art duo or ambient performance act.

Breaking down barriers between audience and performer, Gunshae is as happy in the chill out room as it is the art gallery or concert hall. Each performance is completely unique, site/audience specific and completely devoted to embracing the moment.

These are Cascadian lullaby makers, crafting soundtracks made for trans-continental smudged sunsets.

“That’s what I thought…” The police officer, someone who wields a gun but doesn’t seem to know bullet wounds, when he’s looking straight at them for an hour, was literally less intelligent & cognitively aware as a progressively declining, brain injured 18 yo. Even that he had a gigantic bruise to his eye, if all it was was that, could indicate brain injury. Along with the answers & the way he was giving them, even if he thought he had been under the influence of anything…seriously…

There are numerous reasons why people want to reallocate much of the funding that police departments get. You cannot possibly train one person in 100, completely separate professions & ask them to juggle every individual case with the precision each deserves. Shit happens but, we have certain influence & opportunity to have less of it happen.

It is not that mind boggling when you know how little training and qualification is required to make someone a police officer in the U.S. In most western countries police officers require years of training and education, but here the requirements are far less stringent and the people who become police are grievously underprepared for the highly complex job that it can be. It's maddening and heartbreaking that the prime concern of hiring police is as revenue collectors and generators rather than actual professionals who serve and protect..

exactly, it really does serve as a window into some of the worst possible police practices. Practices that are well understood and for which they are trained and they are warned about falling into and should be trained to detect signs of it and avoidance. Despite their best efforts to avoid immediately being consumed by tunnel vision and therefore unable to properly comprehend the facts unfolding in the most obvious way. Sitting across from a man who's answers are strange and he's showing extreme confusion and with black eyes and 3 bullet holes in his face the "detective" just dismissed it when this victim explains that he'd been shot. Nothing factual or true from the victim is even considered by the police who has decided for unknown reasons that the victim is the perpetrator. The detective never shares what in the world had made up his mind to get everything so wrong but the damage and harm that a thoughtless and locked-up mental state can have when it dwells in a cop places everyone he comes into contact with in serious danger. This is not a story about ONE VERY BAD COP. The training that should have exposed the mindset and alerted instructors to either reject and fail this guy or train and teach him how to do his job, neither of which happened here rise well above simply one cop making a harmless and forgivable error. When your trained to avoid it and yet still do it the act becomes much more serious and even criminal. It is certainly not the sort of forgivable mistake it would be for the average non-trained individual. There is no "understandable' excuse here. So we have higher-ups and supervisors aware of his dangerous inability to discern reality from per-conseived ideas. Someone in that police department somewhere should have pointed out to the detective, even without hearing the victim say he'd been shot as the detective had, that this person seemed to be in a deep state of confusion that is inconsistent with being under the influence and should be evaluated by a medically trained person to determine his reason for giving such odd answers. That IS their duty to do so but any and every thoughtful human would think that but all the other cops in this major city police dept he no doubt came into contact with, who also saw his face, in person, close up, none of them noticed black eyes, a face full of holes, and a confused person? Furthermore, no other cops explained to their detective what the sight of his face meant? It is beyond reason that NOBODY, not one of these upholders of law and order that this detective works around, made a decision to arrest the detective for a number of violations or to even make a report to superiors about the detective's bizarre failure to comprehend what he was seeing? By nobody speaking out against what was going on either before or after they finally got help for Ryan, they all condone the unthinkable. A whole police department revealed themselves as frauds and dangerous scammers posing as cops! This detective had other bizarre takes on cases and weird ideas of what occurred with no evidence to support his views, then, as here, once he decides he knows what happened he makes up lies to support his views and slanders the innocent who are treated ruthlessly by the detective with no opposition to be heard by the rest of the force. If you notice during the questioning most of the questions posed by the detective are almost as bizarre as the victims answers who was working around a bullet in his brain! It seemed less like a real seeking of the truth than it did as a standard and obligatory ritual the detective felt like he needed to perform prior to formally and permanently ruining this guys life by charging him with 1st degree murder, and possibly sending him into the very worst nightmare scenario an innocent person can possibly face in this country, a trip into the hellish domain of loss of freedom, living in jails and prisons, enduring a trial with police lying and a court appointed lawyer, then years or decades on death row until finally being put down by the state like a stray dog. Thats what this detective was working on and planning for Ryan. There is no "oops, my bad" type of error here. Never lose sight of what this cop is angling for and the ramifications that allowing him to succeed will bring. He knows it and its what he wants. As a modern society going forward at some point we must admit to ourselves that handing these guys a gun and a badge with a fast car with lights on top is a danger to the citizens and while we absolutely need the police out there, at some point we must check their unlimited ability to wreck havoc on us and set in place real-time monitoring and close supervision of all aspects of their actions. Gone should be the days of cops running wild up and down our streets waving guns and doing anything they want and us just accepting that their word is good enough while we pay for it.

As a nurse with an Emergency background, my first thought was “he’s medically impaired.” Whether it was neurological or substance-related, I wouldn’t have been able to guess, but his inability to track during simple sentences or focus his eyes would have told me something was going on. CT to rule out head trauma, especially in a violent situation when you don’t know what happened, and he’d seen a bruise! So I am shocked they didn’t give him a perfunctory physical first where they would have seen the bullet wounds. I know cops aren’t medics, and it was two days post-trauma so maybe the outcome would have been terrible no matter what, but it should NOT have taken them EIGHT HOURS to realise he wasn’t right when most of the viewers figured that out in under five minutes.

But I also didn’t realise a medical assessment wasn’t part of an arrest when someone appears to be injured - if not right away then surely within eight hours, and especially when they’re not making any fkng sense?

An excellent book called 'The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat' was by a doctor, describing some of the odder cases he had e.g. people who took toxic levels of vitamins and couldn't feel their body and had complete loss of proprioception (a man threw something big and hairy out of his bed: it was his own leg) or a man who was trying to put his hat on, but kept grabbing his wife's head. One man wanted to ask for umbrella, but only the word 'hat' would come out. He knew he wanted protection from the rain but his brain had hat and umbrella switched.

I was very curious about what happened to Ryan before he ultimately passed and found a lot of things told in this video (and in a lot of articles I searched) aren’t correct. Thisismonsters I believe did a similar vid but Ryan’s dad was able to get in touch with him to clear things up. He ends up doing an interview with the dad and posted it to his channel. Some of the inconsistencies are: Ryan lost one eye, not both. There are pics of him post recovery. He wasn’t an avid gun person. There’s a third roommate, Alicia. Richie was never his roommate and this whole flirting with Heather thing wasn’t true. Richie was a previous tenant in that house, with a guy Eric, before Ryan, Heather, and Alicia replaced them as tenants. Ryan’s dad did try to file a lawsuit, but the corrupt Phoenix justice department dismissed it. The investigators lied about the attack date being 12/23 so that it would be harder for Ryan’s family to prove they were the main cause of his medical assistance delay; it was most likely 12/25. Also Dalton is a complete POS, and now the entire Phoenix PD is being investigated by the DOJ (at least as 9/2021).

the police depts everywhere learned this lesson many many years ago. In fact they train on recognizing tunnel vision and ways to prevent it such as listening to alternate explanations and evaluating everything. The problem here is where is the evidence that made the detective think it was Ryan? And when you are aware of a problem and are trained to avoid it and recognize it and you do otherwise and reject that training it becomes much more than an "ooops", it becomes criminally negligent and negligent homicide when a life is lost due to it. At the very least official misconduct or failing to provide aid? Something official somewhere should be in the record that points out that this is not the way to do it so that it prevents bad policy and requires corrective action on the part of the police dept over the detective. Nothing exists showing that the police did anything wrong or made any error in how this case was handled. That leaves the door open for more of it.

HE STRAIGHT OUT TOLD the detective he'd been shot! This was willfully ignoring what he didn't want to hear, he had already decided Ryan was the murderer. No amount of information from Ryan was going to enter his mind. "Don't bother me with the facts, I've already made up my mind" Anyone who thinks that this detectives demeanor and his smug attitude is rare and this one detective acting like he knows things that he couldn't possibly know is not a very average behavior for cops, this is how they act and think! This is COMMON. As if he's goal is to impress others how quickly he determined Ryan was guilty instead of the goal of finding the truth. In fact I would be much more impressed if I saw the detective be slow and inquisitive, methodical, in making his determination about guilt no matter what. He's not impressing me with his snap judgement and smarter-than-thou act. I checked further into this story and discovered that this POS actually MADE UP the lie that Ryan was shot on the 23rd! Ryan was shot on the 25th he hadn't been in some walking dead state for 2 days, eating sleeping and drinking. None of that was true, the detective made it up so it would lesson the culpability of the police dept, HIM, if poor Ryan had only had a few more hours added by the police to his delay in getting medical attention. They held him for 4 hours in the cop car in front of his house while they investigated the crime scene in his house. Think about that! They're processing a murder scene, what turned into a DOUBLE murder scene after Ryan died from a lack of medical attention, and while they are in there for 4 hours trying to get evidence on the guy they have cuffed up in the back of their car to charge him for murder he's out there dying in their car, a victim, while they leave him sitting, cuffed. I can tell you sitting in a cop cars back seat for 4 hours is no fun but doing it with your hands cuffed behind your back is misery. For FOUR HOURS? Imagine after being shot in the head getting cuffed behind your back and.......we heard Ryan tell the detective he was shot in the cop shop with the camera rolling but I bet Ryan told him, or tried to tell him earlier as well but this POS just didn't want to hear it! He really showed his colors when he lied and said Ryan was shot 2 days earlier. Just review that story only this time with the knowledge that Ryan had been shot only 2 hours at most before the detective took control of him preventing him from receiving medical attention when his responsibility is to determine if he does need it. If he can not make that determination the default action is to bring him to a medically trained person to make that determination for him. Baring that, HE is responsible, its a fact. Yet nobody treated him as being responsible for denying him medical help. What is the reason this detective was not charged for causing this guys death? There IS a reason he was not charged and that reason is because he's a cop and the other cops would have to charge him, we can't expect for him to charge himself! So there's more than just one bad cop at play here. You can bet there was other cops aware of these murders and this "suspect" who later died. And nobody did anything about the detective. They took his story after he lied that he was shot 2 days prior.Look it up. There's info in the comment to lead you to what I found. Nothing has been done and no accusations are even pending or anything. How horrifying to live wherever these cops rule. Where's the Feds?

Innocent until proven guilty is a joke. If you are accused of a crime you are often put in jail or put on pretrial probation, you then have to pay for a lawyer or pay court fees. When everything is said and done you could end up paying hundreds of dollars and fighting your case from jail for months or even years Often losing your house apartment car and job. And end up being completely innocent.

A detective makes an initial assumption about what happened, then it is their job to do whatever they can to obtain information that backs their initial assumption. A lot of people are falsely charged based on such assumptions. Authorities hate to admit when they're wrong. They tend to view everything as black and white when that often is not the case.

I’ve heard about this story a while ago and I was flabbergasted. I was in middle school and I was watching the interview bc I liked watching crime(still do) and I immediately noticed that he had brain trauma! How did it take a cop THAT LONG to realize his injuries were serious!? I noticed the hole in his nose as soon as I saw his nose clearly in the video! I was a CHILD with ZERO experience in this field and I was able to recognize this from the moment his first questions were asked.. I feel so bad that he had to go through this and I feel horrible for how his family must have felt.. Kudos to Ryan’s superhuman strength. Being able to function that well with that kind of injury is INSANELY impressive. This is a serious example of biased conclusions and police not going through with their ordered precautions(medical care and thorough investigation for everyone involved) TO EVERYONE THERE, and not just to the victim(s).

And being shot in the head is usually fatal so it is hard to believe, I am just glad the detective figured out what happen at all.

I can't finish watching this. It's awful. I could tell right away what was wrong. I've suffered severe head injuries. I can't imagine being interrogated like this. Shame on these officers. Regardless of someone's guilt, priority should be on medical attention.

Shock. He was probably in shock and when your body sustains that much pain and damage you can’t feel it. When my appendix burst I didn’t feel the pain. I was in pain but I didn’t realize it. My brain couldn’t comprehend the pain.

@@spookyblookie3499 Yeah, now that I think of it, I had a teacher that suddenly got her arm trapped inside a potato machine, and she was so in shock and such a panic mode that she just yanked her arm out of the machine which saved her arm, and life.

She said she was so in shock that she couldn’t comprehend the situation she was in. Why was that just suddenly happening to her?. Just utter shock.

She said there was just a random innocent potato right there, so she decided to take it, and the horrific accident happened.

I'm curious how anyone knows what he did inside the house for sure. Even if he said he went to sleep, did he really just as was stated or did he think he did but didn't. Too bad he wasn't given immediate medical attention as he should have. Cops have to do better than this. That eye does not look like a girl punched him, it looks more like he got whacked with a hammer.

This is absolutely insane. Police are supposed to render aid even to alleged perpetrators! That poor young man. My gosh. His family must have been well off or had some really good insurance to be able to do in-home, around the clock care. I would have sued the PD for medical care for sure, let alone other damages for their negligence that led to their son eventually dying.

that ending was so sad, and sitting here this entire time looking at Ryan seeing that black circle on his nose I was so irritated like that isn't part of a black eye did they check that out what if that's something serious and of course it was something drastic that should've been checked out sooner and his answers i would've brought him to the hospital to get him checked out because that was just so worrying and idk if that's just me being a helping soul being observant like this but those people really messed up on a new level.. i need to watch this again and try to piece something together..so disappointing really..
