On January 26, 1986, French humorist Coluche, who had set up Les Restos du Cœur a few months earlier, invited a number of artists and public figures to appear on television as a promotional move. The band, whose line-up was never the same, was dubbed "Les Enfoirés" in reference to one of Coluche's catchwords. After Coluche died in a motorbike accident (June 19, 1986) his widow, Véronique Colucci, called on those who had participated to continue his actions, and the band was revived for a further television show. The concept has since evolved into an annual concert, bringing together up to forty artists and celebrities from various backgrounds. The funds raised by the concerts and derived records under the name "Enfoirés" are donated to Les Restos du Cœur.
One of the key features of Les Enfoirés is "La Chanson des Enfoirés", a song which became a sort of hymn to the charity, written by Jean-Jacques Goldman, a long-time supporter of the organisation.

"Dans la maison vide" by Les Enfoirés is a nostalgic and melancholic song that reminisces about a musician and the memories associated with him. The lyrics speak of a musician who played the violin during autumn in the house, which evoked a beautiful symphony. However, time has passed, and the violins no longer pass through the house. The refrain emphasizes the emptiness of the house, the room, and the singer's life, as they spend their time listening and watching the birds pass by, feeling the arrival of autumn but not expecting anyone.
The verses continue to paint a picture of the musician's farewell, how every year when the end of the year approaches, the violin of September is heard, bringing the past into the room like a symphony. The singer spends their nights listening to the symphony that is now finished but still reminds them of the beauty and the love that once existed. The repetition of the empty house and room signifies the longing and loneliness that the singer experiences.
Overall, "Dans la maison vide" expresses themes of nostalgia, longing, and the passage of time. The empty house and room symbolize the void left by the musician and the absence of love. It speaks to the power of music to evoke memories and emotions, even when those memories are bittersweet.
