On January 26, 1986, French humorist Coluche, who had set up Les Restos du Cœur a few months earlier, invited a number of artists and public figures to appear on television as a promotional move. The band, whose line-up was never the same, was dubbed "Les Enfoirés" in reference to one of Coluche's catchwords. After Coluche died in a motorbike accident (June 19, 1986) his widow, Véronique Colucci, called on those who had participated to continue his actions, and the band was revived for a further television show. The concept has since evolved into an annual concert, bringing together up to forty artists and celebrities from various backgrounds. The funds raised by the concerts and derived records under the name "Enfoirés" are donated to Les Restos du Cœur.
One of the key features of Les Enfoirés is "La Chanson des Enfoirés", a song which became a sort of hymn to the charity, written by Jean-Jacques Goldman, a long-time supporter of the organisation.

Faire mal
Pêcher là-bas, c'est seulement pêcher
Le vent, les poissons moqueurs
Donnent bon cœur
Poupoupoupoupoupoupou
Poupoupoupoupoupoupou, pêcheur
Poupoupoupoupoupoupou
Poupoupoupoupoupoupou, pêcheur
Prends un petit poisson
Glisse-le entre mes jambes
Il n'y a pas de raison
Pour se tirer la langue
Ne me regarde pas
Comme ça tout de travers
Qui fait le premier pas
Pour s'aimer à l'envers
Toi, toi, mon toit
Toi, toi, mon tout, mon roi
Toi, toi, mon toit
Toi, toi, mon tout, mon roi
Les papillons en l'air
Et les fourmis à terre
Chacun est à sa place
Il n'y a pas de mystère
Sauf toi, toi, mon toit
Toi, toi, mon tout, mon roi
Toi, toi, mon toit
Toi, toi, mon tout, mon roi
Toi, toi, mon toit
Toi, toi, mon tout, mon roi
Toi, toi, mon toit
Toi, toi, mon tout, mon roi
The song "Medley La France" by Les Enfoirés is a medley of four different songs, each with their unique message and style. The first section of the song, "Les Dauphins," tells a story of Yann, a young boy who wants to become a pirate but has a challenging time navigating the complexities of life on the sea. The lyrics suggest that not everyone is cut out to be a pirate and that happiness is not guaranteed, even when seeking treasure. The second section, "La Cabane du Pêcheur," features a conversation between two people, one of whom has had a distressing dream. The other person invites them into their home and encourages them to forget their troubles and find comfort in creating something beautiful. The third part of the song is "Un Petit Poisson, Un Petit Oiseau," which tells the story of two lovers who are unable to be together due to their different environments. The final section, "Toi Toi Mon Toit," is a charming and simple love song about two people who compliment each other and feel complete when they are together.
Overall, the song's medley style allows for a variety of themes and emotions to be expressed, including adventure, comfort, longing, and love. Despite the different styles, the songs all share a focus on the beauty and complexity of life.
