FACT: It took three to eight hours per day to apply all the prosthetic make-up on Aura Garrido for her role as Aneris.

So, we still dont get why the creatures were doing what they were doing and attacking.. that was not very "friendly"

and it was not for Aneris cuz she was mostly free and outside. She could leave and jump in the water WHENEVER she wanted, and the man would not have been able to stop her.

I think it’s cause remember Gruner said he found her as a baby, so they probably came for her that night and assumed he kidnapped her and attacked him. He of course interpreted that as these creatures are wild and dangerous, and never second thought it and as he killed more, the more they wanted to kill him

Aneris backwards is 'Sirena' which is "siren" in Spanish. As in Sirens of the rock.

@Icarus V. I think it's a bit of both, because mermaids unlike sirens are not known for being good singers. On the other hand, if I remember it right, Greek sirens lived on rocky cliffs, not in water. They are also usually depicted as bird-like creatures with beautiful female faces, so Aneris doesn't really fit any of the descriptions.

Remember the previous weatherman's journal? He made drawings of the creatures devouring men. I wonder where that came from. He probably saw it with his own two eyes, but on the other hand, there weren't that many people on the island to be eaten. Also, had he come across Aneris prior to that, there'd be drawings of her instead of man-eating demons.
