die Landluft tut auch weh
im Jänner fallt der Schnee
im Mai schmilzt er weg
dann schimmama im Dreck
im Juli dann die Hitzen
und Horden von Hornissen.
Aber mir san
wer's ned glaubt
der soll
reinbeiáen
aus solidem geschmiedetem Raiffeisen.
Ja
die Landluft is a Luder
du bist besser wie mei Bruder
sagt die Tochter zu ihr'm Vater
Dirndl geh, des was isagt er
des hat ma gestern Nacht, die Mama a schon g'sagt.
Ja
mir san cool
wer's ned glaubt
der soll

Ja
die Landluft is ka Honigschlecken
unsere drei Dorfdeppen
rennen heute um die Wetten.
Der erste kriegt 50 Groschen
der zweite in die Goschen
der dritte wird daschossen.
Ja

The song "Landluft" by Ludwig Hirsch is about the struggles and challenges of living in the countryside, while still celebrating the strength and resilience of the people who call it home. The lyrics describe the harsh winter snows and sweltering summers, as well as the dangers and hard work that come with farming and living close to nature. However, despite all of this, the people remain strong and proud of their heritage, determined to persevere and come out on top. The chorus repeats the phrase "wie solides geschmiedetes Raiffeisen," which can be translated as "solidly crafted Raiffeisen," referencing the rural credit union that many farmers rely on for financial support.
The song touches on several themes and issues that are common in rural life, such as the changing seasons, rough terrain, and dangerous wildlife. The lyrics also highlight the importance of community and family, as seen in the father-daughter interaction and the friendly competition among village boys. Additionally, the song hints at the use of chemicals in farming and the potential harm that can come from overuse.
