Duermo y no sueño hadas, no sueño nada
Yo quiero playa, maracas, hamaca
Resaca y botella, botella y resaca
The lyrics of Nach's song "Antártida" delve into themes of inner turmoil, self-discovery, and resilience in the face of life's challenges. The opening lines, "Te doy mi frío, La imagen es blanca si la amplío, Otra sombra que se arranca lejos del vacío, Soy como un escalofrío, Un fantasma entre el gentío, sombrío," suggest a sense of detachment and loneliness, describing the singer as a ghost-like figure navigating through crowds with a sense of coldness and isolation.
The lyrics portray a struggle with pain and the harsh lessons it imparts, as well as the dichotomy between experiencing suffering in wars and finding solace in the creation of music. The mention of sleeping in train carriages and facing fears that freeze decision-making reflects a sense of uncertainty and vulnerability in the singer's journey.
The melancholic reflection on lost loves and friendships, symbolized by the changing seasons and the weight of time as both witness and adversary, highlights the universal themes of nostalgia, longing, and the passage of time. The singer grapples with his past wounds and struggles with the acceptance of solitude despite his conflicting emotions towards it.
The song captures the inner turmoil of being a prisoner of time, a theme reinforced throughout the lyrics as the singer navigates through darkness and emptiness, seeking his own inner strength and resilience to overcome his fears and doubts. The journey towards self-acceptance and bravery is symbolized by the imagery of a solitary figure in the metaphorical "Antártida," facing his fears and embracing his inner heroism in the face of uncertainty and self-doubt.
