The opening lyrics to Najwa Karam's song "Al Lala" express a longing for lost loved ones who once offered solace in their voices. The singer asks God to keep their spirits close and not to let them fade away. The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "Al Lala" and describes it as sweet and charming, much like the swaying of a lily or the rising of the sun. The second verse describes the unexpected visit of a loved one who, through their flirtatious gestures and romantic words, sets the singer's heart aflutter. The final verse speaks of the loved one's inner beauty and how they complement the singer's own, creating a magical bond.
Overall, the song seems to convey a sense of nostalgia for a simpler time, when the presence of loved ones provided comfort and happiness. The repeated use of "Al Lala" throughout the song may represent a nostalgic longing for a simpler, more innocent time. The romantic nature of the song, coupled with the sense of longing and loss, creates a bittersweet and emotional atmosphere.
