What Would I Do
Norah Jones Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Please don't leave me.
What would I do without you
To see me through
If you leave me
Then you'll ....?
What would I do
What would I do
I wanna know
What would I do
Where would I go
Can you please me
When you squeeze me
What would I do without you
To see me through
What would I do
I wanna know
What would I do
Where would I go
Oh, yes I'm crazy
About my baby, yes I am
What would I do, without you
To see me through
In Norah Jones's song "What Would I Do," the lyrics express a deep sense of longing and dependency on a significant other. In the opening lines, the singer pleads with her partner not to deceive or leave her, as she relies on them to see her through difficult times. She questions what she would do if they were to leave her, wondering where she would go and how she would cope without them. The chorus repeats this sentiment, emphasizing the singer's desperation to hold onto her love and her fear of losing them.
Throughout the song, there is a sense of vulnerability and honesty in the lyrics. The singer admits to being "crazy" about her partner, and in doing so, acknowledges her own emotional dependence on them. This sense of openness and self-awareness is characteristic of Norah Jones's music, which often touches on themes of love, loss, and vulnerability. Overall, "What Would I Do" is a poignant expression of love and longing, and a reminder of the power that our relationships can hold over us.

on The Nearness of You
The Nearness Of You - Camille Thurman -Lyrics
Its not the pale moon that excites me
That thrills and delights me, oh no
Its just the nearness of you
It isn't your sweet conversation
That brings this sensation, oh no
Its just the nearness of you
When you're in my arms
And I feel you so close to me
All my wildest dreams do come true
I need no soft lights to enchant me
If you'll only grant me
The right to hold you ever so tight
And to feel in the night
The nearness of you
Saxophone Musical Interlude
I need no soft lights to enchant me
If you'll only grant me
The right to hold you ever so tight
And to feel in the night
The nearness, the nearness of you
