In 1981, Grzegorz Ciechowski, taking over the as the new head, moved the group's sound from prog rock closer to New Wave and rechristened the band Republika. He did not, however, completely abandon the band's roots; rather, he adapted Ian Anderson's "heavy-metal flute" into a "New-Wave flute" which featured prominently in such early tracks as Nowe Sytuacje and Kombinat.
The group disbanded in 2001, following Ciechowski's death (cardiac aneurysm).

Republika Lyrics

et c'est comme ça je m'ennuie déjà
J'ai entendu toutes les églises sonner
nous réveiller si fières de rien
Je n'ai pas envie que tu sois là avec moi
Que tu me voies me faire traiter comme ça
The lyrics of Reinkarnacje reflect the inner turmoil and struggle of the singer who is longing for a sign of the person they desire, but at the same time, they do not want that person to witness their struggles. They talk about how they have heard the bells of all the churches ringing, waking everyone up and yet not serving any purpose. The singer expresses their reluctance to have the person they long for to be with them and see them being treated poorly. They feel like they have no right to anything, and their existence is not significant. The singer talks about how they will remain republicans from a distance, as they live in a land of cold, unresponsive mornings and voiceless soldiers where the only thing they have is a pointless and futile war.
The lyrics also mention the struggles of being accused of something they did not do, being judged, and forgotten, which ultimately leads to the singer feeling proud of their insignificance. Despite all these struggles, the singer expresses their pride in being fearless and standing up for nothing. They maintain that they will remain republicans from afar and that one day when the bells ring, they will destroy all their troubles, yet remain proud and strong.
Overall, the lyrics of Reinkarnacje convey a sense of despair and hopelessness, intertwined with pride and a desire to overcome struggles. The singer feels insignificant and wants to distance themselves from their struggles, yet they remain proud of their resilience and ability to stand strong in the face of adversity.
