Kriminaal
Robin and the Backstabbers Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Now I must stand my ground
With life breaking sons of youth
I raised my hopes awfully high
Now you must stand your ground
With life breaking sons of youth
I raised a glass for you to break
So how's it feel to be the criminal
Those broken homes chase your horses away
I raised my words awfully loud
Now you can hear no more
My lies going down a ditch
I raised my hopes awfully high
Now I can't stand myself
With life breaking sons of youth
Raise it up you are the criminal
I raised a glass for you to break
So how's it feel to be the criminal
Those broken homes chase your horses away
Raise it up I am the criminal
I raised a glass for you to break
So how's it feel to catch a criminal
I raised a glass for you to bray
The lyrics of Robin and the Backstabbers' song "Kriminaal" delve into the themes of disappointment, deceit, and regret. The singer expresses how they had once raised their hopes and words to a great extent, only to be faced with the brutal reality of life. The line "Now I must stand my ground, with life-breaking sons of youth" brings to attention how no matter how high you raise your hopes, life has its own way of tearing you down. The use of the phrase "life-breaking sons of youth" suggests that the youth may not necessarily be the savior but rather part of the problem.
The chorus "Raise it up you are the criminal, I raised a glass for you to break" indicates a shift in tone. The singer turns the blame on the listener, accusing them of being the criminal, reversing the roles played in the earlier verses. We see the singer trying to remind themselves of their past mistakes and perhaps trying to absolve themselves of any wrongdoing. The final line "I raised a glass for you to bray" has a dual meaning. First, it suggests that the singer is braying like a donkey, mocking themselves for their foolishness. Secondly, it could mean that the listener has now become a sheep, blindly following the singer's words leading to their own ruin.

Domnilor, definiția artistului care îți încântă urechile cu muzica lui este cea de pe scenă. Dacă îți place, cumperi bilet la concert și așa arăți că îl respecți.

You should take that idea to them, I think they'd like to know other countries listen to their music and most likely they will agree to come to Italy for a gig.
@Nckpa90
Are they coming to Italy for a gig?
@Andi1simple
25 de lei albumul? Eu cand l-am luat mi s-a parut o afacere. Asteptam de atata timp sa scoata si ei ceva cumparabil ca nu prea ii prindeam in concert.
