Winter Love Song
Shota Shimizu Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴
Standing by
I miss you
Winter love song
Winter love song
Woo baby
Winter love song
Day and night
You and I
I miss you
Winter love song
Winter love song
Woo baby
Woo, Winter love song
(Baby, baby, baby, baby) baby ,oh
Winter love song
Winter love song
Winter love song
Winter love song
Winter love song
The lyrics of Shota Shimizu's Winter Love Song beautifully capture the emotional journey of unrequited love during the winter season. The opening lines express the passage of time and the arrival of the singer's first winter since falling in love. The lyrics convey a sense of anticipation and uncertainty, with the singer willing to let go if that is what their beloved desires. There is a confession of growing feelings, expressed through the poignant lines "振り回されるほど君を好きになる" ("I miss you, the more I love you, the more I am shaken by you").
The chorus of the song, "Winter love song," portrays the singer's desire to articulate their feelings for their beloved, yet they find themselves unable to fully confess their emotions. The imagery of snow piling up in their heart symbolizes the emotional burden and chill that the unrequited love brings. The singer longs for the moment when their beloved looks back at them, with their eyes meeting in a silent exchange that is filled with emotions and unspoken words.
The lyrics continue to delve into the internal struggle of the singer, who finds their heart aching every time they think of their beloved. Despite the realization that their love may not be reciprocated, they cannot help but continue to gaze at the object of their affection. The lyrics highlight the bittersweet nature of unattainable love, with the singer finding solace in moments of conversation and shared smiles with their beloved.
As the song progresses, the repetition of the phrase "Winter love song" emphasizes the theme of unresolved emotions and unspoken confessions. The singer finds comfort in the idea that expressing their feelings through a song could bring relief and ease the burden of their unrequited love. The final lines of the song illustrate a poignant moment of hope and vulnerability, as the singer wonders why their beloved turns back to look at them, with even the slightest gesture causing their heart to melt. The repeated imagery of snow and the changing seasons reflect the cyclical nature of emotions and the enduring presence of love despite its challenges.
