Band's biography:
The band is formed after a traffic accident in December 1981, in Vigo (Galicia, Northwest of Spain), with a iconoclastic and neo-dadaist approach in the lyrics: galician punk rock against general boredom.
In January 1982 they send a demo with twelve songs to the radio program "This is not Hawai", presented by Jesús Ordovás in Radio 3 (Radio Nacional de España).
In June the same year the EP "Ayudando a los enfermos" ("Helping the sick people") is published with DRO, one of the new independent record companies that arised at that time.
In November they publish their first LP, "¿Cuándo se come aquí?" ("When do we eat here?") with 15 songs recorded in three days. It was a success in the alternative market.
In January 1983 they play live in Rock Ola (Madrid), an important concert venue for the new bands around the country. They record two songs for the program "Caja de ritmos" in Televisión Española. Due to censorship the program is canceled.
Oh Qué Raro Soy
Siniestro Total Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Me gusta el trabajo,
Pago mis impuestos
Y no bebo alcohol
Y si veo a un pobre
Una limosna le doy.
Oh! que raro soy.
Y el fútbol me vuelve loco;
Y el fútbol me vuelve loco;
La sopa también me gusta
Y a mí el paquete no se me nota.
Leo el periódico
Practico deporte
El domingo a misa
Y pago todas las multas
Y yo en mi vida he ido de putas.
Oh! que raro soy.
The lyrics to Siniestro Total's song Oh Qué Raro Soy describe a man who considers himself an unusual and rare individual because he lives a fairly conventional life. The singer of the song is a responsible, hardworking, law-abiding citizen who is essentially a good person. He pays his taxes, gives to charity, and doesn't drink alcohol excessively. He is a devoted husband, a soccer fan, and he enjoys eating soup. He is also someone who does not engage in any illicit activities, such as going to prostitutes.
Despite the somewhat humoristic tone of the song, there is a deeper message about societal expectations related to gender roles and the pressure to conform to certain stereotypes. The singer is a man who feels that his lack of engagement in "typical" male activities like drinking, gambling, and visiting prostitutes makes him an outsider, even though he is just living his life in a responsible and normal way. The song hints at the societal constructs around what is considered "masculine" behavior and the pressure men often feel to conform to them. Overall, the song celebrates the singer's uniqueness and deviation from the norm while highlighting the irrationality of societal expectations.

Llego a la isla
I arrive at the island
Lo saco de la tienda
I take him out of the tent
Le doy en la cabeza
I hit him in the head
Le abro la cabeza
I break his head
Le corto un brazo
I cut off his arm
Le arranco una pierna
I tear off his leg
Le saco las uñas
I pull out his nails
Le muerdo una oreja
I bite his ear

Their friends show up
Pero me da igual
But I don't care
Son unos jipis
They are hippies
Y los voy a matar
And I am going to kill them
