No Puedo Evitar Pensar en Ti
Sole Giménez Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of this song express the difficulty of forgetting a past love, even when one knows it's time to move on. Sole Giménez sings, "One can forget so soon, one must be foolish to remember. But I... I cannot help but think of you." The first verse highlights the common idea that forgetting someone is easier said than done. It is easy to see the flaws in a past relationship and yet, stingingly painful when memories of that person come flooding back. The singer recognizes that another love may come along and take its place, but she still can't shake the memories of her ex.

The second verse of the song references a specific memory - the night they met. The singer finds herself in the same place again and wonders what it is that brings her back. She speaks directly to her ex, saying that they always believed their relationship would go on forever, but now they've realized that's not the case. Even as she acknowledges this fact, she can't help but continue to think about him. The repetition of the line "No puedo evitar pensar en ti", which translates to "I can't help but think of you," drives home the point that moving on is not as simple as she would like it to be.

Overall, the song speaks to the pain and frustration of trying to forget someone who once held such an important place in your life. It expresses the idea that even though moving on is necessary, it's not always easy to do. Through her emotive performance, Sole Giménez conveys the struggle of letting go and trying to move forward.

Y En directo riguroso.
