In the beginning, Sunderland was the hit trio of their hometown of Hood River, OR, consisting of Mcknley Kitts on guitar/vocals, Dylan Bauld on bass/backing vocals, and Vaughan Heppe on drums. Playing at their local River City Saloon in front of an ever-increasing crowd every month. About two years later, the trio decided to expand their sound and add lead guitarist Zachary Grace to the team. Soon after becoming a quartet they began work on their first album, A Change of Pace (produced by Dylan Bauld and Sean Norton). The EP received a lot of attention from venues in Portland, and eventually lead them to open for national touring acts such as Play Radio Play, The Dangerous Summer, The Morning Of, Allstar Weekend, and Hedley.
Sunderland is currently in the process of writing and re-writing songs for their sophomore EP (Which has yet to be named). They will be heading down to Los Angeles in late October of this year to begin recording and producing the album with co-owner of Drive-Thru Records, Richard Reines.

Over It
Sunderland Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Cause I swear it's all I'll need
Just gonna collect myself
Before I bring me to my knees
I'm not giving it up this time
'Cause I can't believe I got this far
And in a moment I'll be feeling alive
Then broken inside
Oh oh no, oh oh no
I just can't get over it
Oh oh no, oh oh no
Everywhere I look
Is a wall that's closing in
And I don't know where to run
To get away from it
Trying to make it out
Just need to find where to begin
I'm not giving it up this time
'Cause I can't believe I got this far
And in a moment I'll be feeling alive
Then broken inside
And I can't get, just can't get over it
Oh oh no, oh oh no
I just can't get over it
Oh oh no, oh oh no
Oh I'm lost in a world
With a bitter sense of defeat
Almost gone, all that's left
Are the broken hearted dreamers screaming
"Who are we to fight against the way that it's become?"
They've given up
But I won't let it go until I've won
No, I won't let it go until I've won
I'm not giving it up this time
'Cause I can't believe I got this far
And in a moment I'll be feeling alive
Then broken inside
And I can't get - get
I'm not giving it up this time
'Cause I can't believe I got this far
And in a moment I'll be feeling alive
Then broken inside
And I can't get - get - get
I'm not giving it up this time
'Cause I can't believe I got this far
And in a moment I'll be feeling alive
Then broken inside
And I can't get, just can't get over it
The lyrics to Sunderland's song Over It seem to revolve around a protagonist who is experiencing a difficult time, feeling trapped and unable to escape. The first stanza talks about the singer taking a moment to collect themselves before being brought to their knees. They refuse to give up and have come too far to turn back now. The chorus reveals they can't seem to get over whatever it is that's bothering them, and they feel stuck. The second stanza continues this theme of feeling trapped and trying to find a way out, wanting to make it out but unsure of where to begin. The bridge brings in a note of defiance, with the singer refusing to give up and taking on the broken-hearted dreamers' fight, refusing to let go until they've won. The chorus repeats, with the singer emphasizing that they will not give up until they've overcome their challenges and can finally move forward.
Overall, the song seems to be about perseverance and resilience in the face of adversity. The singer is going through a tough time, feeling trapped and overwhelmed, but refuses to give up. They've come too far to turn back now and are determined to keep fighting until they succeed. While the lyrics are somewhat vague and open to interpretation, they can be seen as a rallying cry for anyone going through a difficult time to keep pushing forward and not give up.

Give me a moment here
I just need a short break
Cause I swear it's all I'll need
I'm confident that this break is enough
Just gonna collect myself
I need to gather my thoughts and emotions
Before I bring me to my knees
Before I break down completely
I'm not giving it up this time
I won't quit trying
'Cause I can't believe I got this far
I've come a long way and I don't want to give up now
And in a moment I'll be feeling alive
Soon I'll feel energized and positive
Then broken inside
But that feeling won't last as I'll feel defeated later
And I can't get, just can't get over it
I can't move on from this feeling
Everywhere I look
I see obstacles and challenges
Is a wall that's closing in
I feel trapped and limited
And I don't know where to run
I'm unsure of my next move
To get away from it
To escape from these problems
Trying to make it out
I'm attempting to survive and overcome these difficulties
Just need to find where to begin
I don't know where to start to solve these problems
Oh I'm lost in a world
I feel confused and disoriented
With a bitter sense of defeat
I feel defeated and discouraged
Almost gone, all that's left
I'm nearly exhausted and drained
Are the broken hearted dreamers screaming
The only people left are other struggling individuals
"Who are we to fight against the way that it's become?"
We wonder if we can really change things
They've given up
Others may have given up, but not me
But I won't let it go until I've won
I won't stop trying until I succeed
